Together is a beautiful place to be

It all started at a hostel in Budapest in March 2009. Bonding over Kirsten's amazing Hungarian karaoke performances and Brendan's king cup skills, we spent 2 days enjoying each other's company before parting ways. Over the following 5 years, we stayed friends while Kirsten studied in Calgary and Brendan worked in London. On Christmas Eve 2013, several whiskies deep, Brendan spontaneously booked a flight to Calgary to visit Kirsten (who was surprised, to say the least). After the trip, in -25 degree Canadian winter and perhaps despite our better judgment, we decided to give it a more serious shot. Turns out it was a great idea: through 3 years of long distance and a 7 hour time difference, there was never any doubt. In 2016 Kirsten finally finished university and moved to London where we've lived together ever since, adding to the family with our pitbull Honey in 2017, and cat Annabel in 2019. On March 1, 2019, we got engaged on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Even though Brendan initially forgot to actually say 'Will you marry me', Kirsten understood what he meant and said yes without hesitation. Unexpectedly only 6 months before our original wedding date in September 2020, a pandemic shut down the entire planet, causing us to pause plans for a few years. During that time, we decided to get legally married in a small, simple ceremony in London on October 3, 2020. That said - we are VERY ready to be with our loved ones, party and celebrate our love! 12 years, tens of thousands of miles traveled, hundreds of hours on the phone, millions of laughs, a few tears, two beautiful pet babies, and a once-in-a-century pandemic later, we're so excited to marry each other and share this moment with all of our loved ones!
