- Since reopening in May 2020 using special COVID-19 precautions recommended by retained medical expertise, Camp Balcones Springs has had over 1,000 guests, campers and staff on property, all with no COVID outbreaks. (One counselor tested positive pre-camp but exposed no one.) Camp staff has been quarantined on property since March 2020. - Camp Balcones Springs is a 250 acre property with outdoor venues where all wedding events will take place. The property is an ideal venue for social distancing. - Southwest Airlines (our favorite) is guaranteeing all middle seats will be blocked on their flights through October 31st. - If staying at Camp, only those that you've been quarantining with will be placed in a cabin with you. You should only contact Camp if you need to cancel your cabin reservation. Otherwise, Kinnon & Cullom will ensure that you are comfortable with your accommodations at Camp prior to arriving.
COVID-19 Precautions: - All invitees are asked to refrain from attending if you or someone you've come into contact with has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days. The same goes for anyone who feels ill or has symptoms relating to COVID-19. - Each guest's temperature is taken during Check-in and at Breakfast each day. - Guest sanitation stations are available for use at each meeting and pre-function space and at each activity area (e.g., pickleball, tennis, etc.). In addition to its sanitation station, the Fitness Center provides gloves, wipes, and disinfection twice daily. - Frequent cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of food-contact and high-contact areas occurs. These spaces include front desk counters, door handles, door faces, sports equipment, railings, restrooms and seating areas. - All Camp employees wear masks indoors and during operational services throughout the weekend. All food, beverage and bartending staff wear gloves and masks during service.
We love your kiddos so much! Since Camp offers no childcare and because we're hoping all our guests enjoy themselves to the fullest, worry free, we recommend leaving children at home if you can. However, if you need to bring your little ones, Camp has used the Nanny Poppinz company for past events and weddings. Their contracted services include coming to Camp to watch your children. See www.nannypoppinz.com.
Aside from attire for our wedding events, pack for camp activities: casual and comfortable! Hats, sunscreen, swimsuits, flashlights, etc. And keep in mind our ceremony will be outdoors with natural terrain, so appropriate shoes are recommended. For those staying at Camp, each cabin provides linens, blow dryers, irons, toiletries, bath and beach towels. And don't forget to check the weather forecast!
The Camp provides sports equipment for all activities, but guests are welcome to bring their own (e.g., tennis rackets; guns for skeet shooting). However, guests may not use their own ammo.
Uber and the like are available from Austin to Camp. However, it's difficult to find an Uber from Camp back to Austin. So, if you're flying into Austin, it's best to rent a car. NOTE: Complimentary roundtrip transport to and from Camp for the wedding evening will pick up and drop off at the Hampton Inn in Marble Falls, where you may park, even if you're not staying there. If you want a seat on this transport, please reserve it with kinnonandcullom@gmail.com.
