Question

What are the latest COVID guidelines?

Answer

We will keep this as up to date as possible as new information becomes available. The guidelines can be found here: https://www.travelsafe.pr.gov/#travel-requirements If arriving by flight, you will also need to digitally fill out the Travel Declaration Form which includes uploading your vaccination card and/or negative PCR test results. This form can be found on the website above and a QR code will be generated to show upon leaving the SJU airport. The policy for the venue is the same as Puerto Rico as a whole. As of February 8, 2022, this means proof of vaccination or proof of a negative covid test 48 hours before the event. Please have your vaccine card or negative test results available to show staff at El Convento for the reception. Thank you for helping us stay safe on our big day!

Question

How far are the wedding events from each other?

Answer

The church is about 500 feet from Hotel El Convento, a 2 minute walk. There is a sidewalk along the street, but keep in mind that the street is cobblestone throughout Old San Juan so choose shoes wisely. Flip-flops will be provided for dancing feet that need a shoe change at the reception!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Hopefully lots of sunshine! It will likely be about mid-80s during the day. Iglesia de San José is NOT air-conditioned, so if you run warm, consider bringing a mini portable fan or something to keep cool.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes, we can reserve parking for guests. We need to provide the number of spots needed about a month prior to the wedding, so if you are local and plan to drive, please let us know by February 12, 2022.

Question

What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Formal For ladies: an evening gown, mid-length dress, or elegant jumpsuit For men: a sophisticated suit and tie or tuxedo if you’d like some examples, take a look at this page: https://pin.it/7AHHSmU

Question

When should I book flights and hotel accommodations?

Answer

As soon as you’re able to! Flight costs will likely fluctuate from now until March, but keep in mind this is around spring break time and spring is a busy season for PR. Please look at the “travel” tab on our website for additional hotel and Airbnb recommendations.

Question

Are there any other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

Yes! On Sunday, March 13th between 10am and 12pm, we will be hosting a brunch in Salon Martorell in Hotel El Convento. Please feel free to come by any time within those 2 hours to grab some breakfast. The RSVP is simply to get an estimated headcount.
