Things To Do

Since most of you are travelling from out of town, we wanted to share some of our favorite places in the city.

Missouri Botanical Garden

4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63110
, (314) 577-5100

This is our favorite place in the city. Expansive botanical gardens with indoor and outdoor areas. Admission is $14/person.

The Gateway Arch

St. Louis, MO 63102
, (877) 982-1410

You can't come to St. Louis without seeing the Arch. The grounds and museum are excellent and free. The tram ride to the top is $12-16 per person. Reservations recommended. The tram may be difficult for people with mobility limitations or claustrophobia.

St Louis Zoo

1 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110
, (314) 781-0900

The St Louis Zoo is free and fun! Reservations may be required.

St Louis Art Museum

1 Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110
, (314) 721-0072

The Art Museum is excellent, and free! Close to the zoo.

Boathouse at Forest Park

6101 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110
, (314) 366-1555

Stand up paddle board and kayak rentals by the hour. See Forest Park from a different point of view.

City Foundry STL

3730 Foundry Way, St. Louis, MO 63108

This food hall near the Central West End, showcases some local restaurants.

The Tower Grove Farmers' Market

Center Cross Drive, St. Louis, MO 63116

8 AM - 12:30 PM Saturdays.

Chain of Rocks Bridge

Chain of Rocks Bridge, Granite City, IL

This bridge used to be a part of Route 66, and is now a 1-mile bike/pedestrian bridge over the Mississippi River. Keep an eye out for the 100-year-old water intake houses in the middle of the river. Parking is only on the Illinois side, in Granite City.

Climb So iLL at the Steel Shop

650 North Main Center, Saint Charles, MO 63301
, (636) 493-1675

This is our favorite climbing gym in (well, just out of) town. Boulders, lead walls, and auto-belays. While you're there, check out the quaint downtown St Charles, and the first Missouri Capitol. Their downtown site (The Power Plant) is much easier to get to, but has more limited climbing.

City Museum

750 North 16th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103
, (314) 231-2489

For a truly unique experience that leaves you wondering "how much does this place pay in liability insurance?", check out the City Museum. Half jungle gym, half industrial art installation, this is a must-see that your kids will never forget.
