No—stick to bottled or filtered water, ice in restaurants is generally fine.

No, an updated passport is all you need for travel to Mexico.

What is the easiest way to get around?

Uber is widely available, safe, and generally cost effective. CDMX also has a very accessible public transportation system if you prefer it.
