Alex

Best Man

Journalist and attorney Alex met Yeongsik and Sean King at the Univeristy of Wisconsin Law School, where the three bonded over prior work experience before school and were known as “The Tripod.” Yeongsik’s tutoring single-handedly got Alex through employment law classes, Sean dragged Alex through criminal law, and Alex mostly just provided comic relief and drank lots of beer. Currently Alex rides the coattails of his beautiful surgeon wife and spends his days in Columbus, Ohio lounging in his PJs writing news for Bloomberg and and stretching his company's unlimited data plan with constant texts to Yeongsik. 

Lisa

Maid of Honor

Helen and Lisa officially first met and talked at church, but Lisa had actually also seen her on campus at American at a table about recycling at AU. She had only known Helen as the woman frighteningly passionate about the environment. They didn’t talk then but after their first official meeting at church they quickly got to know each other through their love for steak, art, and most of all, dogs. Helen’s always been a hilariously honest, deeply supportive and an overall amazing friend even though Lisa hasn’t moved back to the DMV area. Lisa is very excited to be a part of Helen and Andrew’s big day!

Sean

Best Man

Sean is a member of the horde of DC lawyers. As a founding member of The Tripod, he enjoys gaming and sharing the latest impossibly offensive memes. Sean balances the demands of pretending to be a professional, with his other passions: being a bum and traveling to strange and exotic places to also be a bum.

Megan

Bridesmaid

Helen and Megan met the first week of their AU MBA program in September 2014. They became fast friends over their love for personal finance, entrepreneurship and Korean culture. Helen was always a good sport when Megan tried to practice her 한국말 and they even got to carpool when they both lived in Hyattsville for a bit. Megan thinks Helen is good at all things she attempts and was often in awe of her talent for photography, business, zero waste, and most of all, powerpoint, haha. Helen continues to inspire Megan professionally and they both support each other’s personal and professional goals wholeheartedly.

Toby Latham is an attorney in Washington DC and is Yeongsik's mentor at the National Labor Relations Board and taught him all the laws.

Carey

Bridesmaid

Helen and Carey met at their AU MBA orientation in September 2014. Helen, Megan and Carey and several other friends were in groups together throughout their MBA program over 27 months, being each other's support system while working full-time and going to school in an accelerated part-time professional program. Helen is an honorary member of Carey's family, and even uses her amazing photography skills to capture all of the important moments as her family grew - from maternity photos, to family photos, and more! Carey's daughter, Harper (3 at time of the wedding), will be the flower girl. The Yuill ladies are thrilled to be a part of Helen and Andrew's big day!

Thomas Barnes is an attorney in Washington DC. He met Yeongsik while they both began their careers at the National Labor Relations Board, becoming fast friends as they discussed everything from how to solve a tricky case to how to how to paint a realistic toy soldier.

Sarah

Sarah is Helen’s cousin who lives in Seattle and was one of Helen's very first friends she ever made in the US. As Helen and Sarah grew up together and even was in the same class one year in elementary school, Helen has become one of Sarah's favorite cousins! Naturally, they grew apart as Helen and her family moved to the east coast, but thanks to social media, they kept in touch. When they FINALLY met up after 10+ years, it was like they never lost a beat in each other’s lives. Sarah is soso thankful for Helen in every way and couldn't be more excited to be able to be by her side as she begins the rest of her life with Andrew!
