We have sent everyone an email with the Zoom Link on 3/27. Please check your email from Helen! At 2:30 pm, we will be opening the Zoom meeting and playing our wedding music & running through a slideshow. We wanted to give our guests a chance to install and load up Zoom before the ceremony. (Please pray that we can do this without any technical difficulties)! At 3 pm we will begin our ceremony and live stream from our church. 

Dear friends and family, With a heavy heart we write to inform everyone that we have decided to cancel the wedding. We received the announcement yesterday that the church where we planned to get married will be canceling in-person services and moving to online worship until April 10. While we had prepared to take precautionary steps including switching from buffet to a plated meal, with school closures and events of our size being cancelled elsewhere, we wanted to consider the safety of all our guests and cancel. Andrew's parents will also be staying in New Orleans. As you can imagine, this was a very difficult decision for us as we have been planning and looking forward to this day for a year. We are still figuring out what's next, but at this time, we're tentatively planning a very small ceremony (with plenty of social distancing) with my immediate family and our wedding party on the 28th. We also do not anticipate rescheduling our event, given the level of uncertainty of when this crisis will end, and frankly (Helen speaking), not quite sure if I have the heart to plan a second wedding. (We're also very ready to get married!!) :) We wanted to let you know today so that for those who need to cancel flights/trains/bus tickets can do so. The hotel block we booked should, to the best of our knowledge, allow full refunds/no fees as long as you cancel 3 days prior to check in. For those from out of town, we'll try to contact individually so the message is received. We hope you all know how much we wanted to celebrate this day with you all. Every guest we have invited, you all individually mean so much to either of us. This is a scary time for everyone but we really can't express how grateful we are to to have all of you in our lives. While this is undoubtedly a heartbreaking moment, we are looking forward to a long, happy married life together (with many more opportunities to spend time with everyone!). Please stay safe and take care of yourselves and others.

How all normal couples meet nowadays, of course! We found each other thanks to an algorithm on one of those online apps. Andrew and Helen had their first date in Old Town Alexandria where they had dinner at the Warehouse, drinks at Volas Dockside, and walked along the waterfront in front of the Torpedo Factory.

Andrew popped the question at the Warehouse where we had our first date. It was really important to us that we sourced the ring ethically and reflect our values of sustainability. Our ring is made from 100% recycled gold, repurposed side diamonds, and center stone is a beautiful minty Montana sapphire mined ethically off-season! The small business owner based out of Seattle (near where I grew up) plants a tree with every purchase through Plant-It 2020 to fight climate change. :)
