This will be one of the stops that we take on the boat excursion that is booked for Wednesday, Nov 9th! It's a floating taco shop. You can order tacos from your boat and have lunch and drinks on the boat, or jump off and sit on a floating table, OR swim up to the swim up bar attached to the taco shop! Located in Coral Bay, but charters from Cruz Bay will sail there. They also have a Taco Shop in Cruz Bay called Lime In
We wanted to have our ceremony up here, but it wasn't available :( However, it is a bar! This lookout is breathtaking! Enjoy some cocktails and some food with by far one of the best views in the Caribbean. Located on a sugar plantation built in the 1700s at the Estate Susannaberg. Click on the link to their website and scroll all of the way down on the Home page and you'll see their Livestream View!
This spot is where you can do some shopping. They have shops, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Short walk from the ferry.
This is the beach we recommend for our size party. The waves aren't crazy, and fun for all ages. There is a cay that you can swim and snorkel around. No need to worry about packing a lunch...they have a spot where you can order food and beverages, also rent snorkel gear, beach chairs, etc. If you are renting a car, you have to get here pretty early to get a parking spot. The food options are...typical burger, nachos, hot dogs, some type of chicken sandwich. If you have food at the place where you're staying, you can always pack a lunch or snacks. There is an entrance fee for this beach $5
We love this beach! And they just opened up a restaurant there that is open only at night I believe. Literally the week before we went, and we only had a short amount of time to cram everything in. So we didn't get to check out the vibe and menu. But the beach here is gorgeous! Lots of waves while we were here....we had the most fun playing in the waves. The have a food truck/shack here as well where you can get food and cocktails. We would say this is safe for kids too, but not on the day we went. But it's not always like that the locals said.
This is a very nice beach. Definitely kid friendly. However...this is a nice long beach, but when the tide is in, there isn't much beach to work with. Then you end up on top of random people, and with the group we have coming, this isn't our top choice. But just like Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay, there is a food shack to get food and cocktails. A place to shop around (tents the locals set up), and rent chairs, snorkel gear, etc. One of the more popular beaches too, so if you do plan to come here, get there early to claim a spot.
This is where we fell in love with St. John! It was the first beach we went to in 2019. They have a shack for food and cocktails here too, except when we just went, it was under renovations. So fingers crossed they're done by November!
A few good restaurants and shops in here as well...it's right along the beach where the ferry docks. Here you'll find Beach Bar, Joe's Rum Hut, High Tide, La Tapa Plage. And across the street from it is The Terrace and Banana Deck...two amazing restaurants.
This is the other popular Bay area that most locals live near. There isn't much to offer here for restaurants and shops (from what we've heard) We haven't made it out there yet. Apparently the taxis don't want to travel a half hour to the other side of the island, and very rarely will they come pick you up there. But the view is gorgeous. For those of you who know Amanda Bozzi...this is where her boyfriend's charter boat is and where they live. If you end up renting a car, definitely take the trip out here.
There are so many Charters out there. We'll be going on Voodoo on the Wednesday. For those of you who will be there on Wednesday, please reach out to us for more information. If you'd like to go on your own while you're there, there's Voodoo, Kekoa, we can keep going, but just Google "Charters in St John VI" and scope them out.
