The year was 2021. Partying after COVID was back. Julia's friends begrudgingly dragged her out to a frat party, "for fun," they said, and to "make memories." Julia walked down the stairs and just as the musty, stale air of the basement reached her nose, she looked up and saw a cute, short, half-Asian king hitting every single pong cup in a game of All-American. They locked eyes, chatted on the sticky, beer-soaked floors of the SAE basement as Mo Bamba blasted in the background, and Cory finally got Julia's number. He asked her out on a date. They'd like to say this was the start of what would become a beautiful relationship, but in reality, Julia ghosted Cory for a week (unintentionally - remember that Julia is the type of texter that you need 3-5 business days to get a reply from). Cory of course, didn't believe that a girl would be that bad at texting so when they kept running into each other at events, Julia's friends really stepped up to bat and conveyed how unreliable of a texter Julia was to Cory's friends, who then in turned relayed this to Cory. Long story short, Cory did end up taking Julia out on a date and that was the beginning of the start of their life together.
Julia and Cory moved in with each other in 2022 and have lived in Capitol Hill, West Seattle, and now Issaquah, WA. They adopted their two cats, Zuko and Azula in 2023. Cory finally convinced Julia to start lifting. Gym sessions turned into 5Ks which gradually evolved into full marathons, and in the future, hopefully triathlons (Cory is still teaching Julia how to swim). Julia taught Cory how to ski and they both learned how frustrating golf can be. They are extremely competitive and recently found out how the board game Catan tests the strength of their relationship. They love staying at home and reading with their cats but have also travelled to many places together. With such a beautiful start to their lives together, they only hope to continue making memories, trying new things, and constantly pushing each other to be the best versions of themselves.
