For those who would like to visit other areas of Ireland: (Cliffs of Moher, Game of Thrones tour, Cork, Belfast, etc.) we recommend coming the beginning of the week to give yourselves enough time to do those activities before the wedding. Bare in mind, most of the excursions are a full day from Dublin. We will be heading to the Powerscourt in Wicklow on Friday, August 22. We recommend our guests get there that day if they would like to explore the estate or take an excursion to Glendalough.
For those who want the most flexibility, we recommend renting a car while in Ireland. There are plenty of car rental companies based in Dublin airport and renting a car has been an easy experience for us in the past. Please note, car rentals are manual by default so make sure you request an automatic if you cannot drive a manual. Also, beware that they drive on the opposite side of the road in Ireland.
