How We Met

June 25, 2016

(Two important facts before we begin: I love Pink Floyd. And Justin's dad Tim is a member of the Southern NJ band Liquid Puzzle, known for their Pink Floyd covers.) One February night, I was out with my bestie Courtney watching Liquid Puzzle when I noticed a really cute guy sitting at the bar behind us. As the night went on, I realized he was definitely there with the band. I had hoped to introduce myself, but sadly, he didn't stay long after the last set. I saw him again at another show; same scenario. I was starting to see a trend. So, at the next gig, I knew I couldn't wait until the end of the evening to make my introduction.... Third time really is a charm! It was a night in June; I saw Justin sitting near his Mom(Sharon) and Aunt(Nancy) at the bar. They were facing the stage and dance floor. Thankfully, a very intoxicated, overly affectionate, extremely dirty dancing couple created the perfect opportunity for the introduction I had waited months for. I went up to his Mom and Aunt and said "Boy, do y'all have the best seat in the house!?". Everyone laughed and as the saying goes, "that's all she wrote folks!". Justin was standing by my side within seconds and we have been by each other's side ever since.

The Proposal

May 31, 2021 - Memorial Day

We had decided to spend time in one of our favorite places, Historic Whitesbog Farm and Village. Whitesbog, for short, established in 1857, was one of the first cranberry farms in the state of NJ and is the birthplace of the cultivated blueberry! The world famous crop was produced in 1917! It's the perfect place to enjoy nature and the outdoors; snap some photos, explore the old village, fish or bird watch, hike, horseback ride, and of course, a little four wheel drive action. On a summer's day you can pick blueberries, and in the fall watch cranberries harvested from the bogs; both berries native to the NJ Pine Barrens. We were riding some of the wooded trails, when I saw a neat clearing and wanted to check it out. Justin stopped the truck, I got out of the passenger seat and started to walk ahead. When I noticed I wasn't hearing any footsteps behind me, I turned around to find Justin standing there with his hand in his pocket saying "there's something I need to ask you." Obviously, the answer was YES!! The Whitesbog Blueberry serves as the inspiration for our wedding....
