Castle Creek Bridge Construction

Castle Creek Bridge is the main entrance and exit for Aspen. It is under construction, with travel impacts. Construction will not be taking place on our wedding day, and you can simply use the detour with no real impact. Week days, the delays will be greatest from 7-11am and 2-6:30pm and in the direction of commuter traffic (into Aspen in the morning, out of Aspen in the evening). This is Aspen and we think 5 minutes of traffic is major, so maybe you won't even notice ;)

Aspen Airport is conveniently located just a few minutes down the road from the downtown Aspen area and about 30 minutes from Carbondale.

Denver International Airport

Denver Airport is located about 3.5 hours away or less in the summer time but has more flight options in terms of timing and price compared to Aspen Airport. The drive to Aspen is beautiful either way you go: either I-70 to Glenwood or via Independence pass. Independence Pass is considered the quicker and more beautiful route if you can handle steep mountain passes. More information below: I-70 to Aspen via Glenwood: You can reach Aspen via I-70 and Highway 82 through Glenwood Springs. To reach Aspen, exit Interstate 70 at Glenwood Springs and head 41 miles south and east to Aspen on Highway 82. (Glenwood Springs is 157 miles west of Denver). I-70 to Aspen via Independence Pass: *Not recommended at night* From Denver, you can travel on I-70 for 77 miles to exit 195 and the proceed south on Highway 91 to Leadville. From there, head south on Highway 24 to Highway 82 and drive over the pass to Aspen, for a total driving distance of 159 miles.

Local Bus System

The Roaring Fork Transit Authority is a popular bus system for locals and visitors. Buses in Aspen and Snowmass Village are free. RFTA buses run regularly throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, including from Glenwood Springs to Aspen for a reasonable cost. If you are flying into Aspen you can consider using RFTA instead of renting a car.

October 7, 2018 3:30 pm - 10:15 pm

We will have two school buses leave downtown Aspen at 3:30pm to drive guests to the wedding venue in Carbondale. Meet at Paepcke Park 150 S. S Garmisch Street for the buses and please be prompt! At the end of the night both buses will leave Aspen Glen Club in Carbondale at 10:15pm to come back to Paepcke Park in Aspen. We are asking all of our guests to please RSVP Yes or No as individuals for both the bus to the venue and the bus back to Aspen on the RSVP page. If you would like to leave earlier than 10:15pm then you will be on own for transportation. Guests staying in Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale or Glenwood Springs will be on own for transportation. *Carpooling encouraged!
