Things To Do

Check out some of our favorite spots in San Diego
Sunset Cliffs

Sunset Cliffs

San Diego, CA 92107

Want to catch the sunset? Grab some pizza and beer from Pizza Port Ocean Beach then head over to Sunset Cliffs for an unforgettable sunset. Fun fact, Kim and Alexis eloped here during Covid!

Bahn Thai

4646 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92116

Stop by for some well known Thai food! Alexis spent a large chunk of her time introducing people to this restaurant. Fair warning, they only use paper plates!

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, CA 92037

Take a hike at Alexis’ favorite spot in San Diego! Beautiful sunsets with a burrito in hand! Alexis spent most of her early adult life working here, be sure to park on the street to save a few dollars. Stop by the Visitor Center and say hello to Docents / Rangers, you may see a few at the wedding!

Phuong Trang

4170 Convoy Street, San Diego, CA 92111

Of course it’s not Orange County or Bay Area Vietnamese food, but it’s good all around Vietnamese food.

Miramar Reservoir

Miramar Reservoir

San Diego, CA 92131

One of Kim’s favorite spots to go for a walk/run with a lake view! You can also take in a view overlooking San Diego.

Stir Fresh Mongolian Grill

17120 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92128

Our go-to all you can eat Mongolian BBQ place that is reasonably priced and Kim thinks is pretty darn good. Alexis eats it.

San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

If you have down time be sure to check out the Worlds Best Zoo! Balboa park is another option just outside the Zoo and if you’re feeling like drinks and live music stop by Panama 66!

Mount Soledad

Mount Soledad

San Diego, CA 92037

Mt. Soledad provides the BEST view of San Diego, overlooking the coast line as well as a great night view of the lights in the city. Great for either a night or day activity. You can also find some of Alexis’ family on the Veterans Memorial Cross.

La Jolla Shores

La Jolla Shores

San Diego, CA 92037

This was Kim's go to surfing spot while attending UCSD. Great views all around here!

La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove

1100 Coast Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92037

La Jolla Cove is one of the main reasons why Kim even went to UCSD and why he fell in love with San Diego. Alexis also grew up snorkeling here. Come here during the day to enjoy the great weather or even see the sunset! Or come at night and go for a walk and just enjoy the sound of the waves crashing. You can park nearby and walk around the Cove as well as explore downtown La Jolla. Be sure to listen out for the sea lions as well.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

Kim and Alexis both used to have season passes to come here. It has much more open space and lots of animals to explore. Great for a day adventure with the family!
