We would love for everyone to be part of every moment, but we’ve chosen to keep the ceremony small and intimate in the morning with immediate family. The rest of our guests can save their energy for the main event — the reception! We can’t wait to celebrate, dance, and light it up with all of you there.
We adore your kids! However, aside from a few immediate family members, we’ve decided to keep our wedding kid-free. We hope this gives our guests a chance to relax, let loose, and enjoy a fun evening without any responsibilities.
If your invitation includes a guest, you’re welcome to bring them — otherwise, we can’t wait to see you there!
If you’re staying at one of our room-blocked hotels, the venues are within walking distance or a short (free) trolley ride away. For those driving, there’s street parking (we recommend downloading the ParkMobile app in advance) as well as several garages nearby. The Torpedo Factory Colonial Parking Garage is the closest to the venue at 102 N Union St, Alexandria 22314 @ $17.95 daily max, open 24/7. More info here: https://www.ecolonial.com/park-with-us/parking-locator/?detail=1&loc=en&id=1075 Courthouse Square Garage (111 S. Pitt Street) is another convenient garage — just $1/hour or $5/day on weekends. You can find more details here: https://www.alexandriava.gov/parking/parking-in-old-town-alexandria
We’d love for you to be fully present with us during the ceremony, so we kindly ask for an “unplugged” ceremony — our photographer has it covered! Once the reception begins, snap away.
#BlingBlingBaby *sparkle sparkle*. Backstory: When Jeff proposed, he totally blanked on his speech. The first words that came out while he was down on one knee flashing the ring were, “Bling Bling Baby!” Honestly, how could Casey say no to that?
Midi or maxi dresses, elevated day dresses or dressy jumpsuits—for shoe selection keep in mind there are brick and cobblestone streets (think: block heels). Suits or a button-down with dress slacks, with or without a blazer; ties optional. Keep in mind the wedding is in the spring. May temperatures typically range from the mid-50s in the morning and evening to the mid- to upper-70s in the afternoon.
Cherry blossoms typically peak in late March or early April, so they’re unlikely to be in bloom by May. However, early May brings plenty of beautiful spring flowers, including azaleas, peonies, rhododendrons, dogwoods, and other seasonal blooms throughout DC and Old Town Alexandria.
Our wedding is inspired by spring colors. While we don’t have set wedding colors, we’re leaning into dark and light greens with touches of blush.
Think of the welcome party as the relaxed, modern cousin of the traditional rehearsal dinner. Instead of a formal sit-down event, it’s a casual gathering the night before the wedding where guests can stop by, say hello, grab a drink or snack, and mingle before the big day. This event is completely optional…feel free to come and go whenever you’d like! The RSVP is simply to help us get a rough headcount for snacks and drinks.
