Jeff locked it down in 2018. We met the year before on a ski trip...he knew the trip organizer from college, and I was invited by my sister, Megan. We joked, we laughed, and parted ways. End of story. Or so we thought… Fast forward a little over a year later and I’m at the same friend’s party with the same sister. I spot this man across the yard, but can’t, for the life of me, remember his name. All I could remember was this vague, blurred memory of him mentioning NASA when we first met. So naturally, I shout, “HEY, NASA!”. All this while wearing frayed denim overalls, which clearly made him think, ‘Oh, I have to talk to her’. He walked over, and we talked all night about anything and everything. At the end of the night, he sees me getting ready to leave and says, so smoothly, that he couldn’t let me go without getting my number. I told him I’d only give it to him if he called me for a date. And something in my gut — intuition, fate, whatever you want to call it — just knew. Our first date was in Old Town Alexandria. Dinner at Chadwick’s, a walk in the park, and after-dinner drinks at Fish Market, where we’ll be meeting you on May 9. It was simple but unforgettable and so much fun. On the way home, I remember smiling ear to ear and even waking my roommate (best friend and now officiant), Caitlin, to tell her I had THE date. It’s been memorable every day since...and I still have the overalls. We can’t wait to share more of that joy with you all. Thank you for being a part of our story.
