Question

How can I prepare for your mountain wedding?

Answer

Breckenridge is at 9,600 ft of elevation and our wedding will be at 10,000 ft of elevation. Tips for avoiding Altitude Sickness: Drink Water Before your trip, and while you're in Breckenridge, drinking plenty of water is the best way to help your body adjust easily to the higher altitude. The low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, like the desert, so you need about twice as much water here as you would drink at home closer to sea level. Dehydration is a contributor to altitude sickness. Eat Foods High in Potassium Foods such as broccoli, bananas, avocado, cantaloupe, celery, greens, bran, chocolate, granola, dates, dried fruit, potatoes and tomatoes will help you replenish electrolytes by balancing salt intake. Pack for Sun With less water vapor in the air at this altitude, the sky really is bluer in Colorado. But there's 25 percent less protection from the sun, so sunscreen is a must. Breckenridge receives more than 300 days of sunshine each year. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm. Dress in Layers. Two days before your trip, check the weather and use this information to pack appropriately. Because the sun is especially powerful, it can feel much warmer than the actual temperature during the daytime, but then become very chilly after sundown, particularly in the spring and fall. It is best to layer your clothing. Arrive Early in Denver If possible, stay a night or two in Denver. It is much easier for your body to acclimate the slower it goes from sea level to altitude. Oxygen in Breckenridge There are oxygen bars in town, and you’ll find canned oxygen at most gas stations and grocery stores. For extra comfort, our wedding planner hooked us up with a discount at Bluebird Oxygen—they deliver oxygen tanks right to your hotel. https://bluebirdoxygen.com/ Use code WEDDINGGUEST at checkout.

Question

What should i bring to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Bring a jacket/wrap! The temperature will drop considerably as the evening progresses. The ceremony will be outdoors, dinner will be in the ski lodge, and dancing will take place in a heated tent outside. Please bring your ID! There will be an open bar, and the bartenders will need to verify your age before serving.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

In order to meet guest capacity restrictions, we are only able to extend an invitation to children in our wedding party.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For the welcome party, we encourage "Mountain Chic Semi-Formal." For women, dresses (mini to tea length), dressy jumpsuits, or skirts with blouses. For men, dress shirts with tailored pants (sports coat/blazer optional, no tie). Cowboy boots, belt buckles, and statement hats encouraged! For the ceremony and reception, we encourage "elevated mountain cocktail attire" - Polished and stylish with a touch of rugged charm. Guests are encouraged to dress up while embracing the mountain setting. Midi or tea-length dresses are perfect, and warm layers like wraps, shawls, or dressy jackets are encouraged. For men, suits or sport coats with tailored pants and ties. We strongly encourage cowboy boots, belt buckles, a statement hat, or a bolo tie!

Question

Can I drive myself or take an uber to your ceremony and reception?

Answer

We kindly ask that you utilize the provided shuttles to get to the venue (no chair lift required!). The venue is located one mile up a gravel road on Peak 9 and does not have space for guest parking. Also, Uber is VERY limited/nearly non-existent in Breckenridge. Please see "Schedule" or "Travel and Lodging" tabs for more information about the shuttle.
