How We Met

April 2014

Kiki and Randon met at work. Randon had been working at Boa Technology for three years, and Kiki met him on her first week there. She instantly remembers being attracted to him and, well, Randon had just had eye surgery and honestly couldn't tell if Kiki was a guy or a girl during the first staff meeting. After two years chipping away at their friendship, Randon asked Kiki to be his girlfriend on a note inside an Easter egg on Easter of 2016.

The Proposal

4.8.2019

Randon surprised Kiki for their Monday night date night and took her snowmobiling at Jones Pass. After thirty minutes of ripping around, Kiki begged Randon to drop her off at the top of a draw to go sledding. He persistently dismissed the idea and drove Kiki down the bowl to a cozy spot in the trees where he had built a campsite, stacked wood, and buried cooking gear with his brother, Justin, the day before. This was the moment when Kiki knew this date was something special, more than a surprise. A few awkward but amazing minutes of setting up camp and starting the fire passed, then Randon got down on one knee, asked Kiki to grab a little wooden egg in the snow, and proposed we spend the rest of our lives together, adventuring just as we were in that moment. Kiki opened the egg to find a ring that Randon had personally designed, molded, cast, and built himself. Cue tears, big smiles, Randon's ski pants almost catching fire, excitement, relief, and illegal fireworks. Randon proceeded to cook pasta carbonara over the campfire, we enjoyed a bottle of wine, and our hearts didn't stop pounding. On the ride down, Randon asked Kiki if she wanted to stop for a celebratory beer. We ended up walking in to Mountain Toad Brewery in Golden, CO to find ALL of our very best friends there waiting to surprise us. It was truly unbelievable. Thank you so much to everyone who showed up to cheer us on! We love you.
