When should I book lodging?

Answer

We'd recommend securing your lodging as soon as possible. Lyons is a small town with limited accommodations—there are only 2 hotels available. Beyond that, most lodging options consist of Airbnbs and VRBOs, which tend to book up quickly!

Will the altitude bother me?

Answer

Celebrating in Colorado means higher elevation! Most guests adjust quickly, but you may feel more tired or short of breath at first. Drink plenty of water, take it easy your first day, and go light on alcohol. Most importantly—listen to your body and you’ll be just fine!

What will the weather be like?

Summer in Colorado is beautiful! During the day, you can expect sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s. Evenings can be cooler due to the dry mountain air, so you might want to bring a light sweater or jacket. While the reception will be held indoors, the grounds are stunning, and we’ll have plenty of outdoor games for everyone to enjoy.

What is the dress code?

Dress Code: Summer Formal Our celebration will be outdoors, so we encourage summer formal attire — lightweight suits or sport coats with dress pants for men, and midi, or floor-length dresses for women. If you’d like to join in on our wedding color palette, guests are welcome to wear earthy summer tones like rust, sage, olive, taupe, soft blues, or other warm neutrals. For suits, classic colors such as navy, medium gray, or charcoal work beautifully. Participation is completely optional, but we love the idea of the colors tying everything together! The groom will be wearing a sand linen suit, so we kindly ask guests to avoid sand or light linen suits so he can stand out. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass, so we recommend avoiding stiletto heels — wedges, block heels, or other comfortable shoes are encouraged.
