As crazy as it sounds, we actually met through a social media app, called “Tinder.” After both of us “swiping right,” we started to text, and shortly arranged our first date. Our first date was at a restaurant in Bloomfield, called Lot 17, now fast forward to December 14, 2018, the day we got engaged! We had always wanted to stay at the Omni Bedford Springs for a weekend, so we ended up finding a great deal and decided to book our weekend away. Little did I know that this was going to be an unforgetable weekend. We left from Pittsburgh on Friday, December 14th, and the weather was absolutely miserable, rainy and cold. This didn’t bother us, as we knew we would find things to do. We arrived at the Omni, checked in, and headed to our room and unpacked our things for the weekend. Alex was adamant about us going outside to get a picture in front of their beautiful, big Christmas tree. Of course, I kept saying no because it was cold and rainy outside, and I knew we had dinner plans. Alex wasn’t taking no for an answer. We walked outside and I wondered how we were going to get a picture, as it was check in time and all of the bell-man were incredibly busy. Alex told me to stand in front of the tree to make sure the picture would turn out, and it did. Alex managed to grab one of the bell-men to take our picture and as I was walking ahead of them, this is apparently when Alex told the bell-man that he was going to propose and to keep taking pictures. The bell-man took a picture of us first, and Alex told me to go look at the picture to make sure it was okay. As I was doing this, this is when Alex took the ring out of his back pocket (that I had no idea was even there). I went back to get another picture, we went to smile, and Alex got down on one knee! I was completely surprised and it was definitely unexpected! Now here we are planning our wedding! We can’t wait for our special day and to share it with all of our closest family and friends!
