We're getting married!

We met at St. Olaf in the music department, first playing just a few seats away from each other our freshman year in Norseman Band, and then growing closer our sophomore year in the History of Jazz class. This course was a favorite of both of ours, being one that was a chance to listen to loads of great music. For extra credit once, our professor invited the class to his performance down in Northfield. We of course decided to go (who wouldn't want to hear a jazz combo featuring the vibraphone?!), and used the opportunity to try to set up two of our friends. Thinking ourselves so sneaky, we inadvertently started falling for each other instead! The most important thing we learned in that class was our shared appreciation of music and respect for each other. We discovered our shared love of movies, nature, books, pets, and food. Talking for hours on end came easily, and once we had dated a while, we realized that so did travel, overcoming conflict, and dreaming of our shared life. We've studied together, performed our senior recital together, got through COVID and long distance, moved in together, and adopted a cat (Ruthie) and a dog (Nutmeg). We've made a wonderful life together in Minneapolis and can't wait to take the next step and make it a wonderful MARRIED life!
