Our Story

Our story began at CU Boulder during the spring semester of 2019. It didn’t take long for Kieran to notice that we were both enrolled in two of the same philosophy classes. He seized the opportunity to invite me to the philosophy club, which set the stage for all that would come after. Through mutual classes, philosophy club, and various social events, our friendship grew. I remember the moment when I knew that Kieran and I were meant to be together. It was during spring break of 2019, when we met up for a quiet conversation at a cozy bar with no name. As we spoke, it became impossible to ignore the magnetic pull between us. Talking to Kieran felt easy, natural, and filled with joy — like coming home to something I didn’t know I was missing. In that moment, I knew something truly special was beginning. I fit in just as effortlessly with Kieran’s family when they offered their home to me during the uncertainty of the pandemic. There we stayed until Kieran received his acceptance into the Princeton philosophy program. Once in Princeton, we worked on our respective degrees and careers, providing support and encouragement to each other. Together, we built a new life, filled with new friends, experiences, and countless memories. Our shared interests — from attending festivals to playing games late into the night and binge-watching our favorite series — continued to be a constant source of joy in our relationship, making every moment together even more special. On June 24th, 2023, Kieran proposed to me at Niagara Falls. We had spent the day exploring and having fun, and the only thing I was still eagerly anticipating was the fireworks show. As the evening unfolded, the falls were illuminated in vibrant colors, and the air buzzed with anticipation for the display. While standing on the Rainbow Bridge between the U.S. and Canada, I paused to express my gratitude for being there with him. To my surprise, he looked at me and said, "Actually, I didn’t bring you here just for the fireworks." Then he knelt down and proposed. Surrounded by the magic of the falls and the night sky, I had the sense that although we were alone, there was something much larger than us at play. I said yes — moved by his thoughtfulness, the love we share, and the perfect reflection of our bond in that unforgettable moment. As we look ahead, we are committed to a lifetime of learning together — continually growing, evolving, and discovering more about each other and the world around us. The challenges we've faced together have not only tested us, but also deepened our connection and strengthened our love in ways we never expected. Each obstacle has become part of the foundation we stand on, reminding us of what we’ve already overcome and what we’re capable of facing together. With a relationship rooted in love, authenticity, and mutual respect, we are ready for whatever the future holds and excited to begin this next chapter of our journey.
