Despite both living on Wartburg’s small campus and sharing mutual friends,Jesse and Anna didn’t meet until junior year, when they took business law together. When Jesse and Anna moved from Grand “Beer City” Rapids to Kansas “City of Fountains” City, there was a period of adjustment. Yearning for the multitude of great walkable breweries in GR, Jesse and Anna soon found themselves as regulars at City Barrel in their new neighborhood. So when Jesse suggested they go there for dinner before trivia on an March eve, Anna had no clue that’s where Jesse was going to propose — and that their Kansas City friends were all waiting in the backroom ready to celebrate!
