Flying into Anchorage will be the best option for most of our out of town guests.
Travel Note
Anchorage to Homer by Car is Recommended
Either travel to Homer on the 24th, leaving Anchorage by 10:30 AM at the latest, or travel the day in advance. The five-hour drive is very scenic, and frequent stops can easily turn this into a full-day event. But it’s worth the time. You can watch a bore tide roll into Turnagain Arm as you look for beluga whales and Dall sheep, then drive through the quaint towns of Cooper Landing, Soldotna, and Anchor Point. Outside of Soldotna you’ll find beautiful mountain and volcano views across Cook Inlet. And you’ll know Homer is close when you see the iconic Homer Spit, Kachemak Bay, and surrounding mountains. Homer does have car rental agencies if you need to drop off the car. Rental cars range in price from $30 to $70 a day. Booking a couple months in advance is recommended.

Anchorage to Homer
Flying is quickest option, but is currently unavailable due to covid-19 as of 6/22/20. RavnAir usually offers a 45-minute flight from Anchorage to Homer. If you don't book in advance, it can be more expensive than other options, but it could give you more time in Homer. Cruise along at about 10,000 – 15,000 feet, with views of the Chugach Range, the mountainous and glaciated Kenai Peninsula, and volcanoes along Cook Inlet.

We have reserved a hotel block at the Aspen Suites Hotel Homer from July 23rd to July 25th. Guests can call the hotel directly at 907-235-2351 and ask for the KLAAMEYER block of rooms. The $189 rate will be available to guests three days before and after if you would like to extend your stay in Homer. If you are an Alaska resident, the rate may already be discounted so check online first. We will also arrange a shuttle service to and from the wedding venue the day of the wedding. Please contact us if you book here so we can get a head count for the shuttle service!
