If you spend any time in Anchorage on your trip, Moose's Tooth is a must. They sell many artisanal pizzas, salads, and local beers. It always has a wait, but I promise it's worth it. Our go to order: diablo bread sticks, smoked salmon spread (don't forget to ask for capers), Popeye's pizza with reindeer sausage, and Amazing Apricot pizza.
Simon and Seafort's is our elegant seafood date night choice. It's located downtown and has an awesome view on the inlet. We always order something different and have not disappointed, but Kiana never leaves without a Lavender Cosmo
Snow City Cafe is our favorite brunch place in Anchorage, located downtown near the water. They serve Alaska's Kaladi Brother's coffee and every brunch classic. I would definitely recommend making a reservation here at least 24 hours ahead
If you spend a day in Anchorage, 10/10 would recommend walking, running, and biking the coastal trail. With the spectacular view of the inlet, the 11 mile trail starts downtown anchorage following the coast to south Anchorage. Things you may see on your the 1964 earthquake fault line, beluga whales, and possibly on a clear day... MT. DENALI! There are several bike rental places downtown like Alaska Pablo's Bicycle Rentals and Downtown Bicycle Rental, Sales and Repair
This is definitely a hidden gem in downtown Anchorage. If you want to treat yourself to champagne and Alaska oysters, this is the place for you. Kiana's go to order Rockefeller and Bruschetta oysters, with a bottle of Moet!
We always bring a bottle of Bear Creek Wine home when we visit Alaska. Turns out the Winery is located in Homer, only 22 minutes from our venueOur favorite wine is definitely the Strawberry Rhubarb.
The Homer Spit is renowned for it views, fishing, and cool vibes. About 30 minutes from our venue, you can catch a day long halibut charter, hangout at the "beach", or visit the famous Salty Dawg Saloon.
This is a moderate hike in Anchorage that yields gorgeous views of the city and surrounding mountains.
A great place to stop and enjoy Cook Inlet on the way down to Homer. Watch for white beluga whales breaching the water, the bore tide wave when the tide is coming in, and sheep in the mountains.
The grilled cheese and soups here are often enjoyed by skiers and snowboarders in the winter under Alyeska Ski Resort, but in the summer its a great spot for a light lunch or dinner.
If you can make it to Seward during your trip, this easy 2.3 mile hike is the best way to see a glacier up close.
If you want some exhilarating fun, look no further than rafting six mile creek in Hope, Alaska. Trips take about half the day, starting at 9am or 3pm
Fishing spot on the way to Homer or Kenai that features rainbow trout and dolly varden.
Check the fishing report, but Russian River can be a great place to catch the coveted Sockeye (Red) Salmon.
