Hi! I’m Makayla — Maid of Honor and lifelong best friend of the bride. I’ve had a front-row seat to Khyra’s life since we were 8 years old, and there isn’t a version of my story that doesn’t include her in it. She’s been my steady, my safe place, and the sister my heart picked. Seeing her find someone who cherishes her the way we all knew she deserved? It’s everything. And being here beside her, for this moment, is a gift I’ll never stop being grateful for.

Officiant & Best (Best Brother) Man

One score and 7 years ago, I was just a little baby who couldn't walk, talk, or do anything for himself. Everything changed when we fast forward to 9th grade and life would never be the same. 9th grade is when I first "officially" met my best best brother Jeremiah John Willis Schollar. Our friendship and long lasting bond of brotherhood first ignited in honors physical science class by me joking with one of our classmates and Jeremiah thought it was funny. That is where it all began. Through many sports, adventures, and memories we have been through many things together and I am honored to know this man and his wonderful bride, Khyra. All the books in the world could not contain the stories of our friendship but in attempts to sum it up (since I am limited to one paragraph) I would like to express our friendship in the form of a poem that I completely wrote myself and did not reuse. It goes like this... "The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more; that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That is the friendship and love you have given me and I hope to give to you forever. I'll be seeing you."

My name is Paige, and I am Khyra’s Matron of Honor, former college roommate, and lifelong friend. We met through WVU’s roommate randomizer—whether it was compatibility, luck, or fate, they made a perfect match. Khyra fit into my life so seamlessly, I still wonder how I went 18 years without knowing her. We bonded through the growing pains of newfound independence at 18, multiple major changes (because who really knows what they’re doing?), and discovering ourselves along the way. While friendships come and go through the passing phases of life, this one stayed, constant and genuine, and I am a better person because of it. I was lucky to have Khyra by my side during the most pivotal moments of my life, including my wedding day—and I’m honored to stand beside her on hers.

Hi! I'm Noah and I've known Jeremiah since the dawn of time (since our freshman college classes). He's such a great friend, I asked Bruno Mars to write the chorus of "Grenade" about him. Thoughtful, loyal, and always there when you need him - whether it's to help through the rough patches or to celebrate the wins. Jeremiah truly deserves the best, which is perfect, because Khyra fits him like... well, something that fits really well. She slipped into the group so naturally it's like she was always meant to be part of it. I'm so excited for the both of them and can't wait to be part of their journey ahead.

I met Khyra in our freshman year of college after I moved into the open room in Khyra’s dorm, crushing Khyra’s plans to turn it into a spare closet. Thankfully, the crushed dreams of a spare closet turned into a lifelong friendship. From college kids running around Morgantown who both believed they’d be single forever, to lifelong friends who get to be a part of each other’s big days - I couldn’t have asked for a better person to do it with. I’m so honored and excited to watch Khyra and Jeremiah’s love grow as they enter this next chapter together. To know Khyra is to be loved, and she is the most deserving of a love story like this. I have known Jeremiah basically as long as I can remember. Being cousins, we were always around each other growing up. Once I moved home, we saw each other almost daily. From guitar hero, nerf wars, mountain biking, cold water challenges, and just about everything else - we were thick as thieves. I am ecstatic I get to be with Jeremiah and Khyra on their wedding day. He stood beside me on mine and I'm glad I will be standing beside him on his.

Hi! I’m Alyx — bridesmaid and proud friend of Khyra’s since high school. When I think of our friendship, I picture our little cars weaving through our small town — sometimes heading exactly where we were supposed to be, and other times… not so much. Those same cars eventually took us off to college, and then to different states, different lives. But every once in a while, they bring us back to each other — and with every reunion, we add a new memory to the mix. I’m so grateful that our friendship has grown with us, through every chapter. And I’m beyond honored that Khyra chose me to stand beside her on such a beautiful, joy-filled day. She deserves every ounce of love this moment holds.

Jeremiah John Willis — a man of many things. To me he’s been a cousin, a bullfrog, a teammate, a neighbor, and a lifelong best friend. Being so close in age and so close in distance meant we were pretty much joined at the hip — from sleepovers and backyard adventures to all the trouble we could get into. Honestly, we probably spent more time together than we did apart. The real question isn’t what we’ve done — it’s what haven't we done? And maybe more importantly… what’s next? My heart’s so full as we celebrate the beginning of this next chapter. Here’s to the newlyweds — Mr. and Mrs. Schollar — and to all the adventures still to come.

Jeremiah and I have been friends since 2012 when we met at the Governor's School for Math & Science. We continued to stay friends while attending academic camps in 2013 and 2015. We reconnected in 2022 in Alaska and have stayed very close since then. Jeremiah is a kind soul with a big heart and I thank God for his friendship. I am overjoyed to get to celebrate Khyra and Jeremiah on their special day, and to be there for them as they enter this exciting new chapter in their lives. They are top of the line people who will make an incredible Husband and Wife.

Hi, I’m Haidyn — one of Khyra’s bridesmaids and her cousin by blood, but her little sister by heart. She’s been my role model, my voice of reason, and the girl who’s taught me everything from how to swing a bat to how to blend my eyeshadow and find the perfect camera angle. More than that, she showed me what it means to have a big sister — even when life didn’t give us that title officially. Watching her step into this next chapter is so surreal, so emotional, and so full of joy. I pray she loves growing old with Jeremiah just as much as I’ve loved growing up with her

Hey, I’m Tyson — Khyra’s brother and a proud groomsman. Over the past few years, I’ve gotten to know Jeremiah pretty well, and I’ve gotta say… my sister hit the jackpot. I wasn’t always the biggest fan of some of the folk Khyra brought around (she’ll definitely laugh reading that), but Jeremiah? He’s different. He’s genuine and has just the right amount of nerd in him, which works out because so do I. He even convinced Khyra to sit through Lord of the Rings, and if you know her, that’s no small feat. Watching my sister fall in love with Jeremiah just makes sense. It feels like he’s always belonged in our world, and honestly, I’m just really glad he’s here.

Khyra and I have been friends since middle school, and it’s been so fun to watch each other grow over the years. it’s been such a beautiful journey watching each other grow through all of life’s seasons.
