we're getting married

We went to the same college, had the same friends, and were probably at the same parties more than once—but somehow, we never actually hung out. We knew of each other, followed each other on Instagram, and that was about it. Just mutuals! Fast forward a few years: Jeremiah was on a trip in Dubai, posting all over his Instagram story (which he never did). Khyra—who had always had a little crush—casually and strategically love-reacted to one of them. (It made Jeremiah’s heart drop in the best way.) The next day, he posted a photo in front of a mosque, and Khyra slid up with the now-infamous line: “This is seriously so cool.” And that was the beginning. Turns out, Jeremiah had also secretly had the biggest crush on Khyra since she launched her blog in 2022—so the feelings were very mutual. From that DM on, we talked nonstop. As soon as he got back to the U.S., Jeremiah drove three and a half hours to take Khyra on the first date: a hike at the Botanic Gardens. Which is ironic, because just weeks earlier, Khyra had told her friends she could never go on a hike for a first date. (God clearly had other plans—and a sense of humor.) That hike turned into a second date the very next day at the Palace of Gold, then a third kayaking in Georgetown. From the start, everything just clicked. It felt easy, natural—like we were always meant to find each other, we just hadn’t gotten there yet! There was something about the way it all unfolded that felt too intentional to be random. We felt God in the works from the beginning—leading, aligning, and bringing us together in His perfect timing.
