Question

What are the Covid precautions?

Answer

Our venue is requiring that everyone either send us a copy of their vaccination card or send a negative covid test result from 3 days prior. If you are sick, please stay home! We will miss you but your health is more important to us.

Question

What do I wear to the Hindu wedding ceremony?

Answer

Hindu weddings are an occasion to get dolled up, so if you've been dreaming of wearing a beautiful Indian outfit now is your chance! There are many websites where you can purchase these outfits if you don't live near a store. Some popular styles are salwar kameez, lehenga, and of course sarees. Men usually wear kurti pyjamas or sherwanis. Otherwise, any semi-formal attire would work just fine!

Question

Why can't I wear my shoes in the mandir?

Answer

A mandir, or Hindu temple, is meant to be a clean and sacred space. Shoes are considered impure and it is a mark of respect to the mandir to remove your shoes. Devotees often sit on the floor and having shoes in the space would make that uncomfortable. Of course, we will provide chairs for anyone who cannot sit on the floor.
