Kellie HargroveKellie Hargrove

Mother of the Bride

Hello everyone, my name is Kellie, and I am the proud Mother of the Bride. How did I meet the bride? Well, if it weren’t for me, there wouldn’t be a bride at all! One of my favorite memories is watching her cheer in high school, I never missed a game, and I loved cheering her on every step of the way. When I’m not spending time with family, I enjoy sewing, going to church, watching the Eagles, and cooking meals that bring everyone together. I am so excited to be part of this special day, so excited that I joke she’s officially passing the financial baton to Kha (just kidding… mostly!). Truly, being part of this moment is profoundly exciting, emotional, and joyful. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness my daughter experience happiness with the love of her life. Watching you grow from a little girl into an amazing mother and woman has been one of the greatest gifts of my life, and my love for you will never change. May your marriage be a masterpiece built with patience, compassion, and love. Be each other’s shelter and sunshine through every season, always keep God first, and remember to lead your lives with faith. I love you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness and joy.

Kiesha BrownKiesha Brown

Mother of the Groom

The mother of the groom, Kiesha, was my best friend and my confidant. My mom raised me into the man I am today. She was my constant source of strength always present, always uplifting, and always supporting me through every milestone and achievement in my early life. This moment is no exception. I know without a doubt that she is proud of me and celebrating this chapter right alongside us. When I think about my favorite memory with my mom, it’s impossible to choose just one. From braiding my hair in whatever style I asked for, to never missing a football game, to moving me into college my freshman year she showed up for me in every way that mattered. We shared a running joke where she’d say, “You can’t beat me,” then grab the little bit of hair on my head and laugh, saying, “who can’t?” Those moments live forever in my heart. Tinaya, my mother would have absolutely loved you. The love, care, and patience you pour into her baby boy, your pure heart, your warmth, and your spirit would have connected so well with her. I know she would have embraced you as her own, proud of the woman you are and grateful for the happiness you bring into my life. Though she is not here with us physically, her love surrounds us, her spirit walks with us, and her presence will forever be a part of this union. Today, we honor her, we carry her with us, and we know she is smiling down watching her son step into a love she helped shape him to deserve.

Shelton HargroveShelton Hargrove

Father of the Bride

Hello everyone, my name is Shelton, and I am the proud Father of the Bride. I first met my daughter the day she was born, and from that moment on, my life was forever changed. Watching her grow into the woman she is today has been one of my greatest blessings and proudest accomplishments. One of my favorite memories with her is teaching her how to drive. I remember sitting in that car, giving instructions, praying under my breath, and realizing how quickly time was moving. Those moments weren’t just about driving they were about trust, patience, and learning how to navigate life together. When I’m not spending time with family, you can usually find me watching sports (especially the Eagles I’m a die-hard fan), working hard, or spending quiet time in prayer. A fun fact about me is that I can work three days straight with little to no sleep, but nothing keeps me going more than my love for my family. I am beyond honored and excited to witness my daughter walk down the aisle. Being able to give her away to a man who truly loves her, respects her, and meets her exactly where she is brings me peace and joy. Seeing the way he has stepped up to love and care for my granddaughter means more to me than words can express, and for that, he will always have my respect. Today is a moment I’ve prayed for, and I couldn’t be more proud of the woman my daughter has become or more grateful to be a part of this beautiful new chapter in her life.

Kehlani TaylorKehlani Taylor

Flower Girl

Hello everyone! My name is Kehlani, and I am the bride’s beautiful daughter and her very first best friend. I met PaPa when I was just one and a half years old, and together they have become the most loving parents a girl could ever ask for. Some of our favorite memories include dancing around the house, cuddling, and turning everyday moments into something special. Kehlani loves to dance, play, and spread joy wherever she goes. She is so excited to toss petals down the aisle and be part of a day filled with love, happiness, and family.

Arianna RossArianna Ross

Flower Girl

My Name is Arianna, I love gymnastics and spending time with my family. I am so excited to be on flower girl duty with my cousin Lani. I can’t wait to see my Uncle/God Father get married, I hope there are yummy snacks at the wedding.

Josiah HargroveJosiah Hargrove

Ring Bearer

Hi everyone! My name is Josiah AKA SiSi! I met the bride when she became my TT, and from that moment, our bond has been filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. One of our favorite (and funniest) memories dates back to when Josiah was just a baby; while TT was watching him and cutting his fingernails, she accidentally nicked his finger and was terrified to tell his mom! Thankfully, her nurse instincts kicked in, and Josiah was quickly patched up and just fine. Josiah loves free play, video games, and lots of sensory play, always bringing joy and energy wherever he goes. He is so excited to be part of this special day and can’t wait to proudly walk down the aisle carrying the rings that start our forever.

Isaiah ValentineIsaiah Valentine

Ring Bearer

Isaiah Valentine is going to be the ring bearer in the Brown-Hargrove wedding. He is the son of the groom’s God-sister, cousin, and constitutionally bound Soror Tianna Broxton. Khalil was present in the hospital the day that Isaiah was born. He has been present for many of his milestones and has been an essential part of his life. Isaiah has experienced spending a lot of time with Khalil during many family events, as well as during each holiday over the years. Isaiah loves to spend time with his family playing board games, card games, Beyblades, Roblox, and more. Isaiah is most excited to be a part of their special day to witness true love and happiness, as well as helping to be responsible for the rings that will join the Bride and Groom together in matrimony.

Camille TurpinCamille Turpin

Maid of Honor

The bride and I attended Delaware State together, where our friendship began over 10 years ago. Some of my favorite memories we’ve shared were at Delaware State, especially in “The Ville,” Building 2, Room 2101 (IYKYK). More recently, I’ve enjoyed watching Tinaya step into her “bride-to-be era.” It has been such a privilege to witness a beautiful, happy, healthy, and genuine romance. Being asked to serve as her Maid of Honor is truly an honor, and I am beyond excited to celebrate and witness this beautiful union in July! 💍✨🥂

Kariem RossKariem Ross

Best Man

Kariem Ross Funny story, I actually met the groom about 29 years ago, though I’m not sure he remembers it. We were both crying at the time. One of my favorite memories of the groom goes back to the summer of 2011. We were finally supposed to play on the same football team. It didn’t end up happening, but the summer of work, practice, conditioning, and running the boardwalk up and down the beach, is something I’ll never forget. And that brings me to my next point. I’m excited for this big day for the same reason I’ll never forget that summer: Kha is one hell of a brother, one hell of a friend, and would’ve been one hell of a teammate. When he wants something, he gives it his all and never shies away from the work. T, you got yourself a teammate for life. I can’t wait to watch you both cross the goal line. I love you both.

I love spending time with my family and friends! ~I am so excited to see Tinaya walk down the aisle because she is so deserving and I love to see her happy! I am so thankful and honored to be apart of her BIG day! May God continue to bless Tinaya and Khalil! ❤️

Michael ManroopMichael Manroop

Groomsman

I’m Michael/Cooley, and I’ve known the groom since kindergarten. We met when we were four years old, and he’s been one of my closest friends—and occasional headaches—ever since. But that’s what happens when you grow up together. We’ve shared a lot of memories over the years, from playing football for the Inwood Buccaneers to just navigating life side by side. Those moments shaped us, taught us discipline, teamwork, and how to hold each other down. At this point, we’re more than friends—we’re brothers. We’re successful Black men who’ve grown together, pushed through obstacles, and continue to level up. And we’re not done yet. A little about me: I train in martial arts—jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai—and I even spent a summer training in Thailand. So yes, I’ve learned how to fight… but today is about love, not violence—so relax. I’m truly excited to be here celebrating him finding someone he loves deeply and who loves him back. Today is about honoring that love and the future they’re building together. I wish you both a lifetime of growth, laughter, strength, and partnership. May your love continue to rise, just like we all intend to do.

Tinea FrederickTinea Frederick

Bridesmaid

Hello, my name is Tinea, though I go by Nea. I am the oldest sister of the bride. I am deeply passionate about cheerleading and basketball. I have a vibrant personality, love to laugh, and am often described as the energy and light of any gathering. I am truly excited and honored to be a part of my sister’s special day. I believe marriage is a beautiful and meaningful commitment, and when God is placed first and outside distractions are kept at bay, it creates a foundation for a strong and lasting union. One of my most cherished memories with Tinaya is having the privilege of serving as her cheerleading coach. Watching her grow into the woman she is today fills my heart with pride. Sis, I am incredibly proud of you and wish you nothing but the many blessings God has in store for you—you truly deserve them. It is an honor to stand beside you as a bridesmaid on your wedding day.

Sabria WhiteSabria White

Bridesmaid

Sabria White- Bridesmaid -Tinaya and I shared classes at DSU years ago without ever meeting, but life brought us together later through our girls dance class and we’ve been locked in ever since. -Some of my favorite moments are our heart to heart conversations during the many Saturday mornings we gave up for dance class. Those talks truly meant so much to me. -Fun Fact: I love to Roller Skate -I am truly honored to be part of this special day. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the authentic, pure love between Tinaya and Kha, and it’s beautiful to see. I’m grateful to stand beside my girl and promise to always support and celebrate their love!

Corey MilesCorey Miles

Groomsman

Corey ( Groomsmen) Khalil and I grew up in the same hometown, Far Rockaway. We didn’t go to the same middle or high school, but we ran in similar circles, had mutual friends. Back then, we weren’t exactly close—it was more of a respectful head nod, a quick “what’s up,” and then we both kept it moving. No beef… just no friendship yet. That all changed once we both made it to college. One of my favorite memories with Khalil was teaming up for our fraternity event, Walk Like a Sigma, a dance competition where we coached our team against another team. That experience really showed me Khalil’s dedication and work ethic when he’s locked in. Now listen—we all know Khalil isn’t the best dancer… but that boy is GOOD. And clearly good enough, because by the end of the competition, we won. Fun fact about me: I’m supposed to be 6’0”, but my genetics said, “Let’s humble him.” Being part of this day means a lot to me. Khalil didn’t always like me when we were teenagers—and honestly, that makes being here even more special. Our relationship grew as we matured, and standing in this wedding feels like proof of that growth. People lose touch with friends all the time, but being asked to stand beside someone on their wedding day means you’ve made the “life edit.” It means the couple sees you not just in their past, but in their future. You’re not just watching the movie—you’re in the cast, with a speaking role. Side note: If you want to know why he didn’t like me back then. Ask him

Daisha RobertsDaisha Roberts

Bridesmaid

Hi! My name is Daisha and I am one of the bridesmaids. I had the pleasure of meeting the bride on only my second day of life as she came to see me in the hospital after I was born, and if you haven’t guessed it yet, I am the brides little cousin! A favorite memory that I have with my cousin - well now that I think about there are too many to count. Most of all I love our family gatherings, we don’t do anything but laugh and play the ENTIRE time. I enjoy having a good time, reading, and laughter. I’m super excited to be apart of the special day because I get to enjoy this journey with her while she walks into a new chapter in her life.

Antonio FuondjingAntonio Fuondjing

Groomsman

Jr - Groomsman I met Kha his freshman year and my sophomore while I was an RA at DSU and he used to be in the building I supervised so much we thought he lived there. And this is my PG version about that year lol. My favorite memory has to back in 2021 when Khalil allowed me the privilege to take his photos showcasing him as an Ostomy Survivor, since I know how much that meant to him and the fact that he blessed me the opportunity to capture that moment for him meant a lot.   Fun fact is I’ve never been a guest at a wedding only as a photographer. So if you see me acting lost it’s because I am To my brother. Love you my boy. You’re one of the strongest and most caring souls I know. I’m glad God blessed us with this brotherhood (although you missed your calling in the frat) and I’m glad to have been given the pleasure to stand by you and witness profess your love to your forever. Keep being you, keep being authentic, and know I’m always in your corner for you

Evan ElliottEvan Elliott

Groomsman

What’s up everyone. I’m Evan, the little brother of the Groom. I can’t recall the exact moment Khalil and I first met, so I’ll chalk it up to when I gained consciousness, though for the sake of accuracy, let’s say it was when I was born. One of my favorite memories growing up is when Khalil would walk me to school back when I went to PS42. It’s a small thing, but it stuck with me. A little bit about me, I’m mostly into video games, especially Monster Hunter and RPGs in general. More recently, I’ve been getting into building robotic mini machines for tournaments. I was pretty new when I started, but my team and I have improved a lot since the beginning—100%. I’m glad to be part of the wedding and to be here celebrating my brother’s success in romance. He’s officially upgraded to a level I still don’t fully comprehend, but I’m happy to sit back and witness it.

Bria RamseyBria Ramsey

Bridesmaid

My name is Bria, and I am a bridesmaid in the wedding. I’m proud to say the beautiful bride is my first cousin, and we’ve known each other our entire lives, growing up together and building a close bond. Shawn WeirShawn Weir

Groomsman

What’s up y’all ? My name is Shawn Weir. Im one of the groomsmen for the night 😂😂😂 I met the groom at a MOCA event Spring of 2016. I was actually annoyed because he was loud as hell and had 0 cares about it. I actually introduced myself to him because I transferred back to DSU that semester and wanted to network with people but as a fellow New Yorker I felt comfortable enough to say “what’s good bro, you from NY?!” , from that point we became extremely close. A year later we became Line Brothers, an experience we shared side by side. My favorite shared experience has to be on our road trips to Stony Brook our neo year. We went back to our home town and performed. Along with spending 2yrs as roommates where we had ups and downs, but came out on top 🤜🏾🤛🏾 A fun fact about me is I was supposed to go to the NBA. They used to call me Derrick Rose 🥀 but the rose died. (Corey please not today) 😂 I’m excited to be apart of the day because over the years we’ve experienced highs and lows in our personal journey finding love and we’ve reached the ending of our old life together and starting the new chapter along side one another.

Evontie BrownEvontie Brown

Bridesmaid

Hey my name is Evontie, I am a bridesmaid and sister of the groom.I own a business selling custom painted art , I am 27 years old and I just moved to Tampa. I met Tinaya on New Year’s Eve December 31, 2022 when my brother picked me up to take us to my aunt house for a party. I remember when she lived in Maryland and I came over with her and Khalil around Christmas time and we just sat in the house, played games and that was beginning of us developing a friendship outside her being my brother girlfriend . I’ve witnessed the love between Tinaya Khalil grow over the years with understanding and care all while tackling the challenges life has to offer and I love that I have a small part in their love and now their wedding.

Raequan RoseRaequan Rose

My favorite memory of us was us having a joint birthday party together. Me and Kha are born one day apart. I love my lil bro. But yeah that birthday party was lit and we both felt all the love from the people that celebrated with us and we worked together to make sure the event was successful. Me and Kha was also roommates our senior year and went the whole year without any conflict. We just knew each other and how to coexist as brothers. A Fun fact about me is I make Caribbean music. I’m actual Vybz Kartel’s step nephew. I’m excited to witness this next stage in my brother’s life. Excited to witness that joy in him. I’m happy that he has found real love, his safe space and true support system. I’m happy to see my brother happy and I'm excited for him to officially usher his fiancé into the family.

Autumn DoverAutumn Dover

My name is Autumn Dover and my role in the wedding party is Bridesmaid. Tinaya and I met through mutual friends. A friend we both shared thought that we would be good friends, and they were right!! We met for the first time and clicked ever since. Me and Tinaya bonded over similar interest! We share goals that we encourage each other to accomplish! One favorite memory I share is being on the phone for Tinaya for hours talking about our goals. Some hobbies I enjoy is travel and shopping. I love being around my friends and family creating memories. I’m excited for this wedding to witness a happy relationship become bonded. I love love. And to see two people finding each other and be willing to commit is an amazing thing. It’s something special about choosing each other above anyone else in the world. I’m honored to be part of it.

Rasheem FrasierRasheem Frasier

Groomsman

What’s up Sheem reporting live as a groomsmen I met Kha in financial aid years back. Son really was just looking and cheesing didn’t know what to really think of it. My favorite memory was the whole stent as coworkers I never in a day thought I would gain a brother. He really made Athletics FUN. We cant talk about the Jimmy Dazzle you had to be there. Fun fact about me I’m really the meanest nice kid you’ll ever know IYKYK. Oh yeah I’m crazy spontaneous. To Kha soon you will begin a new chapter marked by partnership, purpose, and promise. May your marriage be built on mutual respect, steady communication, and a shared vision for the life you are creating together. Lead with integrity, listen with intention, and never lose sight of the joy that brought you to this moment.

Brian RobertsBrian Roberts

Officiant

My name is Brian K. Roberts, also known as “Uncle Link!” The role in the wedding that I’ll have the esteemed honor of carrying out, will be the officiant! If you haven’t guessed it by now, I’m the Uncle of the bride. I first met her at the hospital where she was born when I went to visit her mother, my sister, after giving birth, and I can proudly say Tinaya is just as beautiful now as she was that day when I first met her 😍 just all grown up! The best shared experience, that’ll soon be turned into a precious memory, outside of her being my niece, is the day I received the call from her and my soon to be nephew Khalil, asking if I would perform their sacred ceremony. I LOVE laughter and good clean fun, and am often times labeled “ life of the party”. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my wife Kim, working, watching practically ALL sports, but exceptionally football, cheering for my team the Chargers, and rooting for home teams, especially the Eagles, but above all, I LOVE being in church serving the Lord, where I hold the office of Elder. I’m most excited to be a part of this special day/event, as it’s not too often an “Uncle” gets to not only witness, but be the “chosen” one to unite his niece in Holy matrimony, with what will be, by the help of the almighty, an everlasting union. Khalil and Tinaya, it can and it will be, as long as you keep God first in all you do, for he said “ what “God” has joined together, let no man put asunder. Love, Uncle Link🙏🏽❤️
