Invitation Only. This is a traditional pre-wedding celebration honoring close female friends and family members. As Mehndi adorns the hands and life takes on a new color for the Bride, guests will enjoy traditional Bengali samosa's while sipping on mimosa's. Female guests will also be adorned with beautiful henna designs that symbolize love, luck, and joy by professional Henna artists.

Invitation Only. Here's the Deal: while the ladies are sipping on mimosa's & getting henna, Colin's groomsmen, closest male friends, and family members will join him in a night of Casino Royale. Let the good times roll with a game of poker, pizza, and beverages!

Dress code: Disposable casual white top and black bottoms with a bathing suit underneath! Please bring a beach towel!
Invitation Only. Holi-Themed. A colorful start to the Bengali wedding events as we celebrate the union of our family and friends! Each color carries a special meaning. Red symbolizes love and fertility (hence why south asian brides wear red), yellow is the color of health and happiness, and green is for new beginnings.
6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Dress code: Either Indian formal or colorful Western cocktail. Avoid black, white, yellow, and blue.
Invitation Only. An evening to bring the families together to celebrate the couple before they tie the (Muslim) knot! The Gaye Holud (i.e. “Turmeric on the Body") is a Bengali pre-wedding ceremony, during which family and friends will apply turmeric to Colin and Shaoleen's skin in preparation for the upcoming marriage ceremony. Guests also take turns feeding Colin and Shaoleen an assortment of sweets. This is followed by family and friends performing Bollywood-esque choreographed dances for the bride and groom.

Dress code: Formal Indian or modest colorful Western cocktail attire
Colin will arrive in style possibly on an elephant or horse (stay tuned…), dancing to the beat of a traditional dhol, with his friends and family. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the baraat, the grooms procession. He will be warmly welcomed by the bride's family during the "Gate Dhora (holding of the gate)" ritual. During this ritual, the bride's relatives will attempt to prevent entry of the groom until he pays the sum of money they set. After some bargaining and bantering, an agreement is reached on the entrance fee and the groom's party will be let in. Ceremony to follow. Dress code: Formal Indian or modest colorful Western cocktail attire. Avoid red, coral pink, white, and black.
The ceremony begins with the arrival of the bridal procession and is followed by a number of small traditional ceremonies. We kindly ask you to turn off your phones and electronics during this ceremony.
6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Black Tie Recommended: Either Indian formal or Western formal. Floor-length gowns and tuxes are preferred. Avoid white, pink, red, and orange.
The Wedding Reception will kickoff with a cocktail hour starting at 6pm followed by a formal reception. Formal Dinner will be a mix of Bengali/Indian and American dishes. Afterwards, get ready to indulge in libations and put your dancing shoes on so we can party the night away!
