It all started when a girl asked a guy to coffee on a dating app. The guy, who doesn't drink coffee, said yes anyway. The guy shows up to a coffee shop in Campbell, CA on a Sunday afternoon in January of 2017. The guy buys a delicious hot chocolate. The girl texts the guy that she is running late because she needs to get her soccer stuff together for a Sunday night game. The guy, who also plays soccer, finds this attractive. He waits, finishing his hot chocolate. The coffee shop closes. The guy goes to a bookstore. The guy buys the book "Mountain Shadow" and sits down to read. The girl texts that she is hungry, but needs 30 more minutes. The guy goes to a sandwich shop, orders himself a phenomenal tuna sandwich and waits. The girl he will eventually spend the rest of his life with walks in... The rest is our love story.
A guy has to be crazy to ask a girl on their second date on Valentine's Day.... or he has to have had a phenomenal first date.
Two weeks before leaving on a trip to Portugal and Greece, she asked him point blank, "did you buy an engagement ring?" Now, she knows we love each other, she knows we are committed to that next step, so why does she need to know exactly when it's going to happen? Where is the fun in that?!!! So I told her I didn't have a ring. I lied straight to her face. It felt glorious. My plan was to propose after we got back, but when I saw the disappointment on her face when I said I didn't have a ring, I decided to do what I do best...pull everything together last minute. In two weeks, I had the ring ready, hired a photographer halfway around the globe, picked a city, proposal location, time of day, and backstory. For those of you wondering whether or not she saw it coming, the proof is in the pictures.
