A few months after Sasha got out of the Army where he was stationed in Alaska, he packed his bags and moved down into Richmond. Keziah and Sasha met at church during coffee hour when he chose to sit at the kids table (which really consisted of a handful of adults in their twenties and a few toddlers). They began going to game nights with friends from church and found out they lived on the same street in Richmond, just a few blocks apart. They remained friends for awhile, but sometimes she would find herself giggling a little too hard at something he said or he would catch himself taking a new route to work, past her house. Here and there they would carpool to church. Eventually, six months later, he gave her a call. It turned out they both liked singing “Springsteen” in Saturday afternoon breweries and they liked long hikes, sushi, and talking over each other during movies. A few months later he was moving even closer, just a block over and two down. She'll say he couldn't stay away and he'll say she wouldn’t leave him alone, but in the end, after almost three years and a diamond ring, he's closing the gap between them and moving right in.
