I wish I could tell you a story about how I met a cute yet strange guy at a cozy café where he bumped into my table, spilled tea everywhere, and sparked a frantic clean-up that ended with us talking until closing hour. Or, Joe’s version, where he heard cries for help from a burning building and heroically dove through smoke and flames to save a complete stranger. But the reality is . . . we met on a dating app. That’s our story. No fancy bells or whistles. Just pings and dings from Hinge. It’s odd and not what either of us expected, and also pretty boring. But ever since the day I got a notification from a guy named “Joe,” my life has been everything but that . . . well, maybe yes to odd at times (IYKYK). From our first digital conversations that left me intrigued to our scattered first date that had me second-guessing to our redeeming second date that got me hooked and to the amazing adventures that followed, I’m in awe of God’s timing and the way He’s brought us together. Regardless of how we met, I’m so glad I said yes and continue to say yes to my Joe. Being loved by him has been nothing short of a blessing, and I’m forever grateful for God’s faithfulness.
