This story is being told from Keyanna's point of view, so buckle up. 😂 Like many modern love stories, ours started on Hinge. That's right, Hinge. We didn't tell people that for the longest time because we were lowkey embarrassed, but honestly, why? We were both there for the same reason, and somehow we found each other. After a little back and forth and a reconnection on Facebook, Ernest finally asked me out. Leading up to the date, he kept mentioning that it was his friend Corey's birthday and how much he wanted me to come afterward. Sir, I don't know you. Why would I go to your friend's birthday? Absolutely not. For our first date, we settled on Five Guys because I wanted him to know I was a chill girl (I was not lol). When he got out of his car, my first thought was, "Wow, he is really handsome." And I'm sure his first thought was, "Wow, that's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." Let's just agree that's what happened. 😂 The conversation flowed effortlessly from the start. Somehow, after a few drinks, he convinced me to go to Corey's birthday. I met some of his friends, had an amazing time, and honestly fell for him even more that night. Then came the plot twist. The very next week, the world started taking COVID seriously. We all thought everything would shut down for "two weeks," and as we all know now, those two weeks turned into months. Suddenly, Ernest and I had nothing but time. We became attached at the hip almost overnight. It was basically Love Island with takeout and hand sanitizer. We spent hours talking, watching Roast Me, me watching him play entirely too much Call of Duty, and learning everything there was to know about each other. I even learned he snores (which I thought was cute at the time 😂). Somewhere between all the conversations, laughs, and late nights, we fell in love much faster than either of us expected. Over the years, our lives continued to grow together. Ernest already had a son who became such an important part of my life, and together we welcomed three more beautiful children into the world. Somewhere along the way, the two of us became a family of six, and life has never been boring since. 😂 On Christmas Day 2024, Ernest was acting strange all day. We hosted Christmas, and everyone seemed to notice he was unusually quiet. Turns out, he was nervous because he was planning to propose. The proposal completely shocked me. Even though we had already built a life and family together, I genuinely had no idea it was coming. And now here we are, counting down the days until our wedding. Looking back, it's crazy to think that a date from Hinge and a worldwide pandemic led us here. We've experienced so much together in a relatively short amount of time, and somehow every twist, turn, surprise, and challenge brought us exactly where we were meant to be. We can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. The world may have been shutting down when we met, but somehow our whole world was just beginning.
