Bridesmaid
Kim and I first met at a young age, playing travel soccer and swimming (and sucking at tennis) at Heritage in the summers. We bonded over her childhood obsession with cows, hence the reason her family calls me "moo-kayla." We shared a common wanderlust that's brought us to very far apart (Pohnpei and Tanzania), but always seems to bring us together, exactly where we left off :)
Bridesmaid
Caitlin and I became friends at a young age, and our families have been close since I can remember. We bonded over soccer, trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, despising our younger brothers, and sharing our "nerd" alter-egos Gertrude and Imogene with everyone who begged us not to. Caitlin, Kim and I used to compete in everything possible - the ONLY thing I ever won was speed walking (what a claim to fame!!)
Bridesmaid
Lauren is the best sister in law a girl could ask for...especially one who has spent her entire life with only brothers!! Lauren is super down to earth, an amazing soccer player, and a phenomenal mother to Teddy (my favorite nephew and our ring bearer).
Bridesmaid
Kristin is my original right hand (and throw a leg in there too) at Fanatics. When she joined in 2017 she probably had no idea that we'd travel the world together, and she'd have to navigate some hilariously random situations (made-up typhoons in China, deadly snakes in Phuket, 5 person scooters in Vietnam, cottage cheese pushing flight attendants in Thailand). I'm so lucky to have found her, because I don't know anyone else crazy enough to do all this stuff with me!
Bridesmaid
Jenna joined Kristin and me at Fanatics in 2018, and we thank our lucky stars every day! She is a brilliant, thoughtful, inquisitive mind - I seriously learn something new every time Jenna opens her mouth. She's probably read more books than all of wedding guests combined, so it's a risky proposition to gift her a book unless you're ok with her saying "oh I love this book I've read it three times!"
Bridesmaid
Remy is an honorary member of the Fanatics Sustainability team (her day job is at Adidas). Remy and I both used to work at the Fair Labor Association. She's been a mentor, a friend, and she inspires me daily with her tireless commitment to workers' rights. We've literally been in the trenches together (Google "Chu Chi Tunnels Vietnam")!
Officiant
We connected when we both moved to Tampa with Fanatics in 2017, and I'm so glad we did! She's one of the funniest people I know, and has the most amazing combination of art and science skills (think Martha Stewart minus the rap sheet plus Bill Gates minus the dad sweaters). Caitlin schemed with Kevon to execute the proposal at her house. Since Caitlin is a close friend for both Kevon and I, we've asked her to officiate our wedding! We are so excited, even if it means a few Caitlin "jokes" will slip out in her remarks (yes we intend to laugh on our wedding day).
