$17 admission fee. About 15 minutes from Tulum. You can see fish, shrimp, jellyfish, stalagmites and stalactites. There is an additional charge for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are changing rooms, bathrooms and rental gear available.
$5 entrance fee. About a 25 minute drive from Tulum. This cenote is hidden in a dense forest. It has a cliff to jump off of and wooden decks for lounging There are changing areas, restrooms, a parking area, picnic tables and gear rental available.
About 7 miles from Tulum. This cenote has art installations, a snack bar, bathrooms, showers and gear rental. There is a lot of vegetation and tall stone walls surrounding the cenote. You may enter the water via stairs or a ladder. There are statues of skulls that invoke the Mayan belief that cenotes are entrances to the underworld.
About 30 minutes west of Tulum. You can climb the pyramid here. Food is available in the area, especially Yucatecan food you likely won't find in Riviera Maya. These are slightly less touristy ruins in the area.
This is a pre-Columbian Maya walled city that served as a major port for Coba. Located along 12 m tall cliffs alongside the Caribbean. Tulum was one of the last Mayan cities built and inhabited by the Maya. More of a touristy attraction, but very close proximity to the city.
