Erin met Maura fresh out the womb, as she is Maura’s elderly sister. Maura’s most treasured memories with Erin are their morning car karaoke sessions to Disney songs on the drive to high school. Since then, their love of belting has not dwindled. From concerts, to bar crawls, to sing-alongs, Erin is Maura’s first best friend and they will celebrate over 30 years of friendship by making you all listen to their karaoke version of Frozen’s “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” at this wedding.
Ryan Sturgeon

Kevin met Ryan in 2010 in at a raucous dorm party hosted by Ryan. Thankfully, their relationship has far outlived the 20 minute rager that was shut down by the Camino Hall RA. Over the last 15 years Ryan and Kevin have been roommates and friends. They share an appreciation for Lord of the Rings, chicken wings, and the creations of Sacha Baron Cohen.
Patricia Duffey
Maid of Honor
Patricia is Maura’s younger (and much cooler) sister. They share their love for animals (shoutout to Lottie and Knuckles), Pigment (highly recommend a stop at this cute little San Diego staple while you're in town), and a very organized trip to Disneyland. Patricia is Maura’s right hand woman in all things event planning, and best friend. Now that they both live in San Diego, they love exploring the city together and always just absolutely wowing people who think they “look like they could be sisters!” (This is deeply flattering for Maura every time it happens, even though she pretends to think it’s silly for someone to ask to check her id.)
Scott Thomas

Kevin met Scott in 2014, when Scott joined USD Rugby as Strength and Conditioning Coach. Using the patented "Body by Scotty" program, Scott was able to transform Kevin's physique from "very poor" to "moderate/fair." Over the last 10 years Kevin and Scott have become coworkers and friends, working together to transform USD Rugby to a national powerhouse.
Kayla Eaton

Kayla is Kevin’s sister and Maura’s friend and feminist hero. After seeing Blink182 in concert, Maura talked to Kayla about how the two were going to take up drumming. While Maura is still googling beginner drum sets that won't scare Lottie, Kayla has already debuted on the DC drum scene! Maura loves and admires Kayla's adventurous spirit, and that she is the most welcoming epitome of girlhood you will ever encounter. From the moment Maura met Kayla during a trip to the Yampa River in 2016, Maura felt like she was part of the family. Maura cannot wait to officially claim her as her own sister, accumulating quite a collection.
Bryce Baker

Kevin met Bryce in 2010, with Bryce making a stellar first impression by getting a red card in his first collegiate rugby game. Bryce and Kevin's friendship blossomed when he referred Kevin (and fellow groomsman Ryan Schott) for jobs straight out of college at Bay Alarm. The three embarked on their "Workaholics" phase of life in 2014. All 3 were dishonorably discharged from the company in 2015. Bryce and Kevin share an appreciation for rugby, live music, and the Greek Grizzly.
Katrina Eaton

Katrina (Katia) is Kevin’s youngest sister and will probably be the coolest person you’ll meet at this wedding. She is an environment-saving icon and world traveler. In fact, in 2023, while Kevin was on a boys trip to the Rugby World Cup, Katia and Maura spent a beautiful night in Paris together. Maura is incredibly grateful that her and Katia’s relationship has continued to grow from their initial meeting (also at the Yampa River trip!) as Kevin’s sister, to many more adventures, as Maura’s friend. Maura cannot wait for many more adventures with Katia, once Maura has officially commandeered her as Maura's second (also cooler), younger sister.
Ryan Schott

Kevin met Ryan in 2010 at college orientation. Kevin struck up a conversation with Ryan about his "Rush" t-shirt. Kevin believed that "Rush" was a fictional band created for the 2009 film. "I love you man". They have been friends ever since. Ryan holds the honor of Kevin's longest tenured roommate, with cohabitation lasting from 2010 to 2016, just narrowly missing a common law marriage. Ryan and Kevin share an appreciation for baseball, classic rock, and outrageous dance moves.
Michelle Saul

Where would Maura be without Michelle Saul? Certainly not here writing this on her wedding website, because Michelle is actually the person who introduced Maura and Kevin! Michelle and Maura have been friends since high school, a friendship that survived an (apparently) atrocious showing at freshman year soccer tryouts. (Maura made JV, it really wasn’t that bad. Michelle is just an absolute queen of the beautiful game and her standards are high, and her yelling is loud). Once Maura and Michelle figured out that their shared talents are more wine tasting based than athletic based, their relationship really thrived. Maura and Kevin will be eternally grateful for Michelle and her husband, Garrett, for bringing them together and hope you all appreciate that it was really Michelle and Garrett who are to thank for this event and its open bar!
Pete Collins

Kevin met Pete in 2018, when Erin and Pete came to San Diego for Pete's first meeting with the Duffeys, with Pete being the "new boyfriend" that Kevin had to vet. After a weekend together and an ocular pat down, Pete was given the stamp of approval as future brother-in-law. Since meeting, Kevin and Pete have appreciated each other’s shared English upbringing and the additional male presence around the Duffey women at family events.
Gillian Gorelik

Gillie is the second longest relationship Maura has had, besides Kevin. Although, with Maura and Gillie, instead of taking 6 years to seal the deal on their love, they decided to move in together after only about four months of knowing each other. When you know, you know; am I right? After years and years of living together, dancing together, and possibly not being welcome back to Joe’s Crab Shack, a blurb about Gillie and Maura’s friendship would be more of a doctoral thesis, but all you really need to know is that if not for Gillie’s friendship, and willingness to co-parent, Maura would have never taken the plunge to adopt Lottie, mid-pandemic, while studying for the bar exam. Gillie’s kind of a big deal.
Eric Bodnar

Kevin met Eric in 2010 with Eric standing out as the guy who wore capri pants and a traditional polo-rugby shirt to the first USD Rugby practice. Over the last 14 years Kevin and Eric have been friends and roommates, even sharing "Mega House" with Kevin/Maura/Gillian throughout the Covid lockdown. Eric and Kevin share an appreciation for their dogs, spike ball, and Star Wars Battlefront.
Oliver Brantley

When Maura and Kevin began their relationship in 2016, Kevin was living with Oliver. Although Oliver claimed he also had a girlfriend, Andrea, and she was just "really busy all the time", Oliver spent a suspicious number of Friday nights with Kevin and Maura during the pivotal first months of their relationship, playing board games, watching movies, and graciously sponsoring a pizza delivery taste test. After finally getting to meet the elusive and beautiful Andrea, Oliver's now-wife, and 8 years of friendship, Oliver has seen Maura and Kevin's relationship develop from its humble beginnings to the iconic institution it is today.
