Matron of Honor
Randomly placed together as roommates our Freshman year at UW-Eau Claire, we quickly became best friends. We continued to live together through our 4 1/2 years in Eau Claire and still will refer to each other as "roommates". Hillary was my rock through my college years, constantly challenging me to become a better person, sticking around through my many crazy stages, and continues to be one of my closest friends. She's stuck with me for life!
Best Man
Teammate, older brother, mentor. We grew up drooling, fighting, and playing with the same toys. I had the privilege of playing football and baseball with him through my sophomore and junior years. Once beginning college, he helped me understand the University of Minnesota campus, influenced what major to select, and which courses would help me be successful. Although he lives in Omaha, I very much value the time I get to spend with him. He influenced me though my my formative years and I am lucky to have him stand beside me.
Maid of Honor
Taylor and I met in choir our Freshman year of college. We instantly bonded over making fun of some of the ridiculous songs we had to sing and quickly became close friends. Taylor enlisted me to join Tri Sigma our Sophomore year and we continued to enjoy our college years through our sorority adventures, long car rides singing along to music, and endless afternoons watching Netflix or wandering around the mall. Although we now live far apart, Taylor is still one of my go to people and my person.
Best Man
Oldest brother. He influenced me in more ways than he knows. Although I rarely had the opportunity to compete with him on the athletic field, I always cherished the opportunity I had. Always a valuable resource, he afforded me knowledge from his experiences, whether I wanted it or not. Whether he knew it or not, I often took his advice and it still resonates with me today. I am lucky to have such a caring brother to share his wisdom with me and I am happy to have his support today.
Bridesmaid
Sam and I met our Freshman year of High School, and quite honestly, we're not fond of each other at first. However, come Sophomore year our feelings shifted and we became best friends. Sam has been there through my first job at Caribou, coming to visit me and do homework with me, to going to High School dances, to coming to Eau Claire for her 21st birthday, to still being one of my favorite people today. We both love our dogs more than most people, like going to bed early, and could sit and drink wine (and beer) on a patio for hours.
Groomsman
College roommate, volleyball teammate. He accepted me into his friend group when I was a freshman in college. He saw me at my best and at my worst. Whether he knows it or not, I relied on him to keep me level headed. When I was struggling, he was there to pick me up. He helped celebrate my success, and mourn in my losses. He was the first person that laughed at my diabetes, helped me understand that it didn't control or define me. I wouldn't be here today without the Brett's help.
Bridesmaid
I have known Kelsey since High School! We knew each other through mutual friends through most of the years, however, we didn't become really close until we sat next to each other during Physics our Senior Year. We did a project influenced by "Up" (which was a flop, but our teacher felt bad for us so we got an "A") and from there out we became great friends. I spent my first couple college summers at home with Kelsey and Sam almost every day and Kelsey is one of my core people.
Groomsman
Honorary roommate. I never lived with Justin, but he was always there. I first met Justing while visiting the University of Minnesota Duluth campus in 2009. The first thing I realized about him when I met him was how open he was to meeting new people and learning about them. After moving in with Brett, I got to know Justin a whole lot better; he spent as much time at our house as any of us. He accepted me into the same friend group as Brett and helped me feel welcomed to be a part of it. Even though I never lived with him, went to school with him, or had any connection other than a mutual friend, I am lucky to have met such a kind and caring person and am happy to have him be my groomsman.
Bridesmaid
I have known Taylor all my life! Cousins by choice, we grew up together. She has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I have ever met and am grateful our families blended together to foster our relationship. From sleepovers when we were young, to seeing each other through ALL of the awkward years, to being in her wedding in 2019, I can't imagine having my wedding without her by my side.
Groomsman
Chris Swanson. Oh where to begin. Although I remember the first time I Met Chris, he may not remember the first time he met me. From that point on, I knew we would get along just fine. Chris and I became roommates my junior year of college. He was also a part of Justin and Brett's friend group, making me feel even more welcomed. What drew me to Chris was his opinionated nature; good, bad, or indifferent, he voiced his opinion and helped me realized that what I thought wasn't wrong. He helped me challenge my own beliefs and not follow what I was being taught, blindly. He was also a never ending source of entertainment; from his guitar and banjo ability, to his ability mumble the lyrics of hit music, it was always entertaining to have him as a friend.
