Travel Note
From the Midwest, you'll connect through a hub like Miami, Atlanta, or New York before landing in Santo Domingo (SDQ). We recommend avoiding Punta Cana (PUJ). Santo Domingo is the closest airport to Las Terrenas, and a private transfer makes for a smooth, scenic 2-hour ride right to your doorstep. Punta Cana is a minimum 4.5-hour drive, so we don't suggest flying there. We recommend booking a private transfer in advance with as many friends and family as you can find to ride with you. If you're brave enough to drive here and are renting a car, note that Dominican roads follow a very different set of rules than what you might be used to. Here are some transfer services we recommend: Santo Domingo Taxi (they operate from Punta Cana as well) https://santodomingotaxi.com tel:+1-305-204-6504 Dominican Airport Transfers https://dominicanairporttransfers.com
