Downtown Oberlin is small and packed full of great little shops and restaurants. Just about everything is within a 10 minute walk from the hotel and Tappan Square. We recommend strolling down College St. and Main St. and checking out all the various shops. If you're hungry, options include Thini Thai, The Feve, Aladdin's, Bingo, Lupita's, Lorenzo's, & Kim's (Korean food and grocery). Some fun stores include Ben Franklin & Mindfair Books, Ratsy's, Evie Lou, and The Hope Collection by Into. For coffee and snacks the places to go are The Slow Train, The Local, or Blue Rooster Bakehouse. Check out The Black River for a unique selection of wines, beers, and snacks (including non-alcoholic options). On Saturday from 9am-noon there is a Farmer's Market at the Public Library parking lot. Lake Erie can feel like the ocean when you're looking out at it! We really like going to Edgewater Park because there is plenty of space to walk around and soak up the view of Cleveland and of the lake. We love the giant willow tree, the stony beach, and the giant swings. There are restrooms there. We live in Lakewood, so Lakewood Park with its solar steps, bench swings, and giant playground is somewhere we enjoy walking to and around. West of Cleveland there is Huntington Beach and Reserve. You can walk down steps to the beach. There are walking trails across the street.
