Julia and Kevin met during Julia’s very first week at Cal Poly in 2016, crossing paths during Week of Welcome activities at the club volleyball booths. What started as a casual introduction quickly grew into a close friendship. A year and a half later, after Kevin spent a semester studying abroad in Prague, the timing finally aligned, and the two went on their first official date. Their relationship truly took shape when Kevin asked Julia to join him at Volleyprom. In classic Kevin fashion, he asked her in a way she could never forget: by singing an original song over the intercom of their Southwest flight to St. Louis for their national tournament. From then on, their relationship has evolved and adventured, and in every walk of life they bring out the best in one another! In the summer of 2025, Julia and Kevin took a trip to New York City — where Kevin had a plan brewing. After a wonderful day in Central Park and a delicious lunch at Pastrami Queen, he suggested a walk through The Ramble of Central Park. When they reached a charming little spot called Oak Bridge, Kevin got down on one knee. Julia was joyfully stunned and happily accepted! They were soon surrounded by family and friends, turning an already magical moment into a day they’ll always remember.
