We have known each other for years throughout middle school and highschool through mutual friends, however we never talked to each other much until we both graduated college. We found ourselves sitting next to each other and catching up at our friends' apartment and both knew we would definitely want to hang out more. Kevin has been a die-hard Yankees fan his whole life, so a few weeks later a group of friends including Janki decided to go to a game. After sitting next to each other and enjoying the day together, we both knew there was a connection and the rest was history!

Janki's Perspective: It was a normal Friday night, Kevin and I had planned to meet in NYC for happy hour followed by dinner with some friends. Our dinner plans "changed" last minute because our friends weren't able to get to the city in time (or so I thought), so we headed over to Han Dynasty and planned to meet up with them afterwards at a friends apartment. As we climbed the 4 flights up to the apartment, I kept questioning Kevin about where we were headed and why there was no elevator on this crazy hot day. Little did I know, the stairs led to a beautiful rooftop covered in rose petals and Ed Sheeran playing in the background. I cried tears of happiness as Kevin got down on one knee and popped the question! And that wasn't the only surprise he had! Turns out our close friends and family had known all along and joined us to celebrate this wonderful moment. It was truly a perfect day that I'll cherish forever! Kevin's Perspective: I started trying to figure out what type of rings Janki would want to start designing the ring late in 2018. I knew 2019 would be the year, so once I found a perfect date in the summer where our close friends and family were available I began to plan the whole day. Janki's friends and family were a huge help in organizing some of the logistics and decorations, and obviously played a crucial part in throwing her off in the days prior. The whole day I couldn't wait to finally get to the rooftop, and luckily the heat covered up for my nervous sweating. The actual moment of proposing is a blur, but all that matters is that she said yes and we couldn't wait to tell the world and celebrate!
