Their story began as many do these days, with a dating app: The League. Working as a consultant, Kevin was staffed on a project in Elle's home town, Dallas, TX. On their first date, he failed to mention that he was only there temporarily... until about thirty minutes had passed and it was too late (she already liked him). After only knowing each other a few weeks before Kevin left Dallas, they decided that they had something special and they needed to make it work. From then on Elle and Kevin made every moment count, lots of phone calls, facetimes, plane flights, and weekend trips between Dallas, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and New York. They made it work.
Since they were dating long distance, Elle's first trip to San Francisco was a special occasion! Kevin planned an amazing weekend and took her to do all of the typical SF activities: A walk around the marina, a trip to Muir Woods, and last but not least, a bike ride over the Golden Gate Bridge. Riding over the Golden Gate bridge, they paused to take in the view and hand in hand had a moment of quiet reflection. Elle told Kevin a few years later that standing on the bridge holding his hand was one of her happiest memories and the moment she realized that she loved him. For Kevin, it was much more simple. It was on their fourth date when she took him to the Texas-OU football game! Kevin knew then and there he had found a good one.
Wanting to bring back that special moment on the Golden Gate Bridge, Kevin decided to recreate that bike ride three years later. Waking up early and setting out for the day, Kevin and Elle hopped on their bicycles with a special surprise in Kevin's pocket. Cycling closer to the Golden Gate, Kevin suggested they pull over to take a picture together (something Kevin would never do)! Kevin asked an "innocent bystander" to take a photo, then surprised Elle by getting down on one knee and popping the question. Elle said yes and the rest is history.
