FAQs

We’ll continue to update this page with more event-specific details as we get closer to the wedding.
Question

Do I need to do anything before traveling to the Dominican Republic?

Answer

Thank you so much for making the trip to celebrate with us, it truly means the world to us! All travelers are required to complete an electronic entry form (the e-ticket) for both arrival and departure from the Dominican Republic. You’ll find the link and instructions on our Travel page. If you’re traveling from outside the country, you’ll also need a valid passport. Please double-check your passport’s expiration date ahead of time.

Question

Will there be a hotel room block?

Answer

Yes - available now! To access the link please refer to the travel page. The deadline to book within the room block is October 1st.

Question

When should I book travel?

Answer

For the best availability and pricing, we recommend booking flights about 6–8 months in advance. If you’re planning to stay at the wedding hotel, we recommend booking accommodations through the hotel block which is linked on the ‘Travel’ page.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We love your little ones and would be happy for them to be part of our day. Please feel free to bring your children if that works best for your family.

Question

Where are the celebrations taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Kimpton Las Mercedes in Santo Domingo. If you’ll be driving, the hotel offers complimentary valet parking on site.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie Optional / Indian Formal. Think gowns, suits, lehengas, sarees, and other festive formal wear. We kindly ask guests to avoid white or ivory.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

December in Santo Domingo is warm and tropical. Expect daytime temperatures in the low to mid-80s°F with comfortable evenings. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are always a good idea.

Question

Are we near the beach?

Answer

While Santo Domingo has beautiful ocean views, the nearest beach is about 30 minutes away in Boca Chica. If you’d like to extend your trip, we’ll be heading to a beach resort after the wedding and would love for family and friends to join us. More details on that soon.

Question

What’s the best way to get around Santo Domingo?

Answer

We only recommend renting a car to our boldest and bravest guests. Think a lively mix of NYC, DC, and Ahmedabad traffic. For everyone else, the easiest way to get around is by using Uber or a trusted local taxi service. We’ll list our recommended transportation partners on the Travel page.
