Our favorite brewery in the Birmingham area. You can be sure to find us there at least once during the wedding week!
Another fun brewery, slightly further out of town. This one has a bunch of arcade games, as well as a different food truck every day.
Birmingham's first and most widely-known brewery, located across the street from the Birmingham Barons stadium (the AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox). Another really good brewery with lots of space to hang out.
Located in the historic Avondale neighborhood (slightly further from downtown). Avondale brewery gets it's name from a traveling circus that used to call Avondale home. Great variety of beer and outdoor space!
Haven of hipsters and businesspeople alike, this place is usually busy as it is well-known for its cocktail offerings. Order the Legendary Sex Panther and you'll get a free temporary tattoo to show off!
We went here with some of our friends, and it was a ton of fun! Challenge friends and family to a variety of games like foosball, tabletop shuffleboard, ping pong, bumper pool, darts, and duckpin bowling. They serve Mediterranean inspired, Southern-rooted food, and one of the largest selections of drinks in the city.
Inspired by Alabama farm-to-table cooking, this restaurant blends French, Californian, and Southern cooking. Chef and Owner Chris Hastings just won a James Beard Award this year. It is on the expensive side, but is one of the hot places in downtown right now!
Italian cuisine with Southern influence and ingredients, the Cafe does main dishes and pizzas all cooked in a wood-burning oven. The Cafe is a less expensive option to the Dining Room!
Trip Advisor's list of the top things to do in Birmingham has a wide range of activities and lots of information about visiting the Iron City!
Birmingham, Alabama played an integral role in the Civil Rights Movement. If you're interested in history, the 6-block Birmingham Civil Rights District would be an awesome place to spend an afternoon and see some of the landmarks within, including the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, which chronicles the events, struggles, and victories of the Civil Rights Movement during the 50's and 60's.
