Flight
When traveling directly to Tuscany and Lucca, Italy, we recommend flying into either Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR) Florence or Pisa International Airport (PSA) in Pisa. Pisa International Airport is the quickest option when traveling to Lucca since it’s 30 minutes away by car or 40 minutes away by bus or train. Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport) is the second best option when traveling to Lucca since it’s 1 hour away by car or 1 hour and 30 minutes away by bus or train.
Travel Note
For U.S. citizens, in order to enter Italy, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Italy and/or Europe generally. In other words, if you are entering Italy and/or Europe generally on September 1, 2025 and leaving September 5, 2025, your passport must be valid until at least December 5, 2025 in order to enter. As a general rule of thumb, 6 months validity left on your passport is recommended for travel. Please check your passport validity and complete renewal in a timely manner or complete your application for a U.S. passport well in advance of your departure.
