Kevin and Emily first met at a Summer carnival when they were only teenagers. Kevin asked Emily to go out with him, but she refused. He had his mind set on her, so he persisted. She finally gave in after he asked her several times, and they spent the rest of the summer madly in love. Sadly, they were forced to be apart when they both moved home before the Fall semester. Emily wrote Kevin letters to try to keep in touch. In fact, she wrote him 365 letters. She wrote him every day for a year. Wait *checks notes* this is the plot to The Notebook. Kevin and Emily met on Bumble. Sort of the same thing, right?
After a long tax season, Kevin planned a surprise getaway to celebrate 1) the fact that Emily would now have some free time again, and 2) the fact that he wouldn't have to do most of the housework anymore. Little did Emily know that he actually had something else in mind. Actually she highly suspected he had something else in mind. But I digress. Kevin planned an amazing weekend in Newport, RI, where he and Emily stayed at Castle Hill Inn.... in a turret! On the second day, the pair went on a long cliffside walk where Kevin had found the perfect spot to pop the question. When the two got closer to the point Kevin had picked, Kevin suggested that they walk out to get some pictures. Emily said "No that's okay!" Emily had burgers and beer on her mind. Kevin insisted, and he and Emily walked out to the beautiful rocky point. Kevin got on his knee, and Emily yanked him up for a hug in 0.2 seconds flat. Kevin had never seen her have actual reflexes before! She forgot to say yes, and she forgot about the ring, but as you can guess using context clues, she was all on board to get married.
