We highly encourage you to sneak in a tasting at this gorgeous winery with STUNNING views of Edna Valley. You may even get lucky and find yourself there on a day when live music and food trucks are available on the back patio. Located just down the road from our wedding venue, you'll get a little sneak peek from the street!
Visit the gorgeous and historical site that quite literally put SLO on the map! Admire the murals inside the church, say a little prayer (for youuuuu), and walk the gardens. The mission couldn't be more conveniently located in the heart of downtown SLO.
This rather new and modern market is a must-stop for a delicious, casual, quick bite (or sip) from tons of local SLO vendors. There is truly something for everyone's palate here - with some cute shops to boot.
Three words, say it with us: TRI. TIP. SANDWICH. To say this place is a SLO establishment is an understatement. The best spot in town for famous Santa Maria style BBQ. A fast casual environment with delicious food and a great selection of local beer and wine. Be prepared for a bit of a line if you're going at prime time on the weekend!
Equestrian themed décor, coastal inspired menu, critically acclaimed in the Michelin Guide... need we say more?
If you feel like leaning in to the Spanish influence of SLO, this is your place. Feast on tapas and paella and sip some sangria, all while you take in the view of the beautiful Mission San Luis Obispo.
Your token Italian spot in the heart of town that is bomb. dot. com. Great for groups or last minute folks - this place doesn't take reservations so go early and put your name in and pop into a nearby wine bar to kill the time!
Grub on authentic pizza and pasta amidst the cute, cozy, and trendy vibes the Flour House has to offer.
Coffee shop OF ANIE'S DREAMS!!! Located right next to Hotel Cerro, this is the perfect place to start your morning or drop in for an afternoon pick me up. Good luck resisting all the cute gear they sell...
This place is an absolute vibeee and is a lovely walk from The Wayfarer hotel. Kill time waiting for your coffee in the cool vintage store adjacent to the coffee shop.
Dreamy little spot to pop in for a glass of wine or a romantic dinner for 2!
Great little cocktail bar with lively and crafty libations. Perfect place to wait it out for your dinner table to be ready, or to pop in to for a night cap. Don't miss the downstairs level!
Very cool urban open door marketplace featuring everything from bakeries to hair salons to wine tasting rooms to popular restaurants such as Bear & the Wren, Mistura, and Quesadilla Gorilla. This marketplace has something for everyone!
So many beers it will make your head spin! Great place to stop in for a casual bite and beer, and we've been told to NOT MISS the "Totchos" (tater tot nachos......)
A local fave just a little off the beaten path - great beer, grub, merch, and often live music!
If you're feeling the need to work of all the SLO beer and BBQ you've been consuming, the Bishop's Peak trail is the perfect place to do so. Take in the fresh air, admire rolling hills of the central coast, and (for our geology buffs) see how many of the "Nine Sisters" you can spot from the top! Fun fact - this is where we took our engagement photos :) The link below also lists info for other popular SLO trails of varying difficulty.
Marvel at the quirky architecture and décor of the (self proclaimed) "world famous" Madonna Inn. It's worthwhile to stop in for a classic breakfast in their vintage cafe (try to resist stealing the water glasses), and if you're craving something sweet - pick up a slice of their locally famous cake for later :)
If you're coming to town a bit early and will be there Thursday night, you might want to check out this not-so-average weekly farmer's market. From 6PM onward, this "farmers market" acts a bit more like a street fair.
Immerse yourself in local culture and check out the free concert in Mission Plaza that occurs every Friday night during summertime! Just don't forget to grab dinner and come by our welcome party too!
SLO's location on the central coast offers MANY nearby towns worth visiting to make the most out of your holiday week! Some of our favorites include: Paso Robles (where we got engaged) Santa Barbara Pismo Beach Carmel Big Sur Let us know if you plan to visit any of these and are in need of recs!
