Jill accidentally planned her own proposal. She pitched a date to the art museum after Valentine's Day, but she had no idea Rick was planning the exact same date for the following week!

Rick was excellent at keeping the secret. 30 minutes before he popped the question, Jill interrogated him over lunch about when it was coming.

Man of Honor Danny, Maid of Honor Sara, and Danny's girlfriend Mint surprised Jill at the museum day-of. The museum guards helped them sneak around unnoticed so they could take pictures.

Jill thought Rick had been acting odd all day, but she was still so surprised that her mind went blank. She doesn't remember a word of what he said between him getting on one knee and her saying yes!

The couple started dating in 2017. Jill was best friends with Rick's twin and Best Woman Kala, which is how they met.

Before they got together, there was months of "will they, won't they". Neither knew they had been crushing on each other despite nonstop texting and hanging out!

Eventually, they got over their individual anxieties and decided to give dating a try. But they never expected it to go very far.

Rick was about to go to college, and Jill was still finishing high school. They were both prepared for things to fizzle out at the end of the summer.

Rick going off to Kent ended up being the beginning of 6 years of long-distance.

Between Jill moving to Cincinnati and Rick studying abroad, the two had to work extremely hard to grow together.

The one things that kept them both going were the constant daydreams of the life they would build together someday. Once Jill finished college, it was finally time for that life to start!

Since then, they've moved in together, got a cat, got engaged, moved across Ohio, and got a second cat. They are thrilled to get married and solidify the commitment they made to each other as teens.

While this picture was taken in 2021, the couple lived in Cleveland for two years while Jill was in grad school. They loved every minute of it!

Rick's first time visiting Jill at University of Cincinnati in 2019. We now live together on campus where Jill is a residence hall director.

Their first date was a Green Day concert in August 2017. Concerts have been a staple date ever since.
