Our Story

I had been going to TCBC with my family for several years. Around the time of the Legacy Conference in 2020, Hunter came to visit for the first time. He was almost done with his undergrad at Carolina University and was looking for a new church. He was also looking for a Seminary to attend, but didn't even initially know that TCBC had one before visiting. At the end of the service, he heard our pastor make mention of the Expositor's Seminary. He met with one of the Associate Pastors, Kevin Huang, who is also over the Devoted College and Career Ministry, to discuss the seminary and Kevin invited him to the Christmas Party that the Devoted group was having that evening. That was the first time we were introduced, but we only talked briefly. Hunter continued to come to the Friday evening studies regularly and for the first little bit I just listened in on the conversations that he had with one of our friends. They both had come from a similar background and I would ask questions and just got to slowly know a little bit about him. He eventually became a member at the church and joined my family's caregroup. It was then that I really got to know more about him and we hit things off really quickly and easily. We talked a lot in different group settings, but little did I know that he was developing an interest in me. Come May, he asked me if I would like to go out for lunch or dinner with him. We dated for 5 and a half months. We went on a walk in Reynolda Gardens and the next thing I know is Hunter is getting down on one knee asking me to marry him. And the rest is history! The Lord has been very gracious in bringing the two of us together. We both pray that we will fulfill the roles that God has called the both of us to and that our marriage would be honoring and glorifying to the Lord.
