Tommy and Kerry met at a house party in the University of Dayton’s student neighborhood. After talking and sharing some mixed drinks for a few hours, Tommy invited Kerry to get dinner with friends at a popular Mexican restaurant named El Rancho. When they arrived, Tommy's friends had just finished up their meals and were headed home. It quickly turned into an unexpected 1:1 date between the two of them. They spent the next several hours together sharing food and stories. Kerry was immediately drawn to Tommy's sense of humor and close relationship with his family. Despite her pigtail braids and knee high cow socks, Tommy noticed Kerry's smile right away. The two started dating shortly thereafter, and the rest you can say... is history!
After nearly 5 years of dating, Tommy proposed on the beach during Kerry's family vacation in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Stone Harbor holds a very special place in Kerry's heart. Kerry's grandparents owned a beach house on 89th street that her family vacationed at for every summer of her childhood. They celebrated the engagement over dinner at Peter Shields Inn and with night cap of ice cream from Springers. Kerry believes her grandparents were watching over her when Tommy proposed.
